1:2000 CNC Timber Model of the Bull Base. Salzburg, Austria. The Red Bull Base is situated in the south of Salzburg, amidst the residential district of Elsbethen, on a former military base. Since Red Bull acquired the area in 2012, the complex has been renovated in accordance with the requirements of monument protection and transformed into a state-of-the-art office campus. This project will continue over the next few years to provide space for 2000 employees of the company upon completion. The aim of the planned urban intervention is to sensitively complement the existing structures and design a campus that is characterized by both efficiency and flexibility, while respecting the existing built environment. The office ring that has already begun will be completed by an attractively curved building. The residential and support programs will be located outside this ring in suitable areas. #redbull #urbandesign #thebestnewarchitects #salzburg #masstimber

🏡 Discover Architectural Elegance with Frank Lloyd Wright’s William E. Martin House 🌟 I'm thrilled to share insights into one of Frank Lloyd Wright's lesser-known gems, the William E. Martin House, located in the historic Oak Park, Illinois. Designed in 1902, this Prairie-style home exemplifies Wright's innovative approach to residential architecture, blending form, function, and harmony with nature. 🔍 What makes the Martin House stand out is its compact, yet flowing layout that integrates the living spaces with the surrounding environment, a hallmark of Wright's design philosophy. From the strategic use of corner windows enhancing natural light to the thoughtful vertical distribution of private and communal areas, every element reflects a mastery of space and aesthetic coherence. 👀 We recently explored each level of this iconic house, examining the ingenious use of space from the basement to the serene third-floor playroom. The tour highlighted how Wright's designs are not only beautiful but also immensely practical, adapting to both the site constraints and the needs of the inhabitants. 💼 As professionals in architecture, design, or real estate, understanding these historical contexts enhances our appreciation of architectural innovation and heritage. It also provides invaluable lessons on how thoughtful design can create timeless spaces. 📌 If you’re passionate about architecture or enjoy exploring historical designs, I encourage you to dive deeper into the story of the William E. Martin House and Frank Lloyd Wright’s architectural philosophy. #Architecture #FrankLloydWright #DesignInnovation #HistoricalHomes #PrairieStyle #ResidentialArchitecture #ArchitecturalTour #HeritageConservation

✨ Team Innovation: Notre Dame's Restoration... a 5 Year Team Effort 🇫🇷 "Notre-Dame is officially reopening more than five years after it was badly damaged in a fire. We got our first look inside the cathedral since the refurbishment was completed when French President Emmanuel Macron toured the site last week The Archbishop of Paris will then host a commemorative service followed by a live concert from 21:15 CET (20:15 GMT)." SOURCE: BBC It took 100 years to build Notre-Dame Cathedral. It took the tireless work of 600 firefighters to extinguish the fires. The 5 year restoration was a massive undertaking involving the painstaking labour by 2000 architects, designers, engineers, blacksmiths, and carpenters as well as craftsmen and artisans from a variety of disciplines. "The eight bells of the north tower were also removed in 2023 – a massive operation given their size. They were cleaned and treated, and then returned a few weeks ago. To rebuild the vaulted ceiling beneath where the spire had stood, masons had to relearn the principles of Gothic architecture – using a wooden frame to put the stones in place and crowning it all with the keystone." "It was the wooden roof that burned – all 100 metres of it. None of the 800-year-old timbers survived. But the decision was quickly made to replace them as faithfully as possible – with oak from the forests of France. By happy coincidence an architect called Remi Fromont had conducted an in-depth study of the timber frame as part of his university thesis. This served as a template for carpenters." SOURCE: BBC A star-studded congregation of royalty, 50 world leaders, and other dignitaries are in attendance at today's service. It's a celebration of the power of teamwork, innovation, and determination. #notredame #Paris #Innovation #France #Linkedintopvoices Here is the result which is nothing short of incredible.

Post-disaster situation in Buffalo: The town is in mourning, because, this year again, the Bills did not make it to the Superbowl. On the positive side, for those who like steel construction, they are getting a new stadium. Latest information on construction of this steel structure is here: https://lnkd.in/eKP2dsAn Note: The new stadium will NOT have a roof. Considering the latest cost estimate of $2.1 billion (https://lnkd.in/eNfKQPBq), and comparing this cost to that of other recent NFL stadiums that have a roof, it is a bit puzzling. Of course, shoveling snow is relatively cheaper. For comparison: Las Vegas: 2020, with roof. US$1.9 billion ($2.24 billion in 2023 dollars Los Angeles: 2020, with roof. $5–6 billion ($5.89 billion-7.06 billion in 2023 dollars) Atlanta: 2017, with a retractable roof, US$1.6 billion $1.99 billion in 2023 dollars) Minneapolis: 2016, with a roof, $1.061 billion ($1.35 billion in 2023 dollars) Dallas: 2009, with retractable roof, $1.3 billion, $1.85 billion in 2023 dollars) Indianapolis: 2008, with retractable roof, US$720 million ($1 billion in 2023 dollars) Arizona: 2006, with retractable roof, $455 million, ($688 million in 2023 dollars) Source: Wikipidia #steel #steelstructure #steelconstruction #structuralengineering #stadium #footballstadium #longspanroof #roof #retractableroof #engineering #structuralengineers #design #steeldesign
