⚡ Fortum, an international listed company, is one of Tamtron's important, long-standing customers and has supplied sophisticated weighing and dosing technology to the hydrometallurgical battery recycling plant in Harjavalla, Finland. The Harjavalta plant contributes to Europe's self-sufficiency by returning critical materials for battery production to European production. The cooperation will also contribute to strengthening Tamtron's role in building both the Finnish and the European battery industry ecosystem. 🗨️ "Fortum will naturally play a growing role in the battery recycling sector, and we recognise this potential. It’s a special day. We have just held the inauguration ceremony for our pilot plant; the proof-of-technology that we have been working on since the inception of Hyme just over two years ago. It was really quite stirring to see the plant, the first physical manifestation of the mission we set out on, and which still motivates me every day: To make sustainable energy available, always. Believing the progress we have made with our wonderful team and partners, is sometimes hard. As the plant starts operations next week and continue for the coming months, we will draw many learnings, I’m sure, which we will integrate into our product development. We target to make our product commercially available in 2025, so we’ll be busy taking the learnings into practice. But today, I actually find it hard to dwell much on the future. I think I’ll take another round at the pilot plant and just savor the moment with the team. Ørsted’s FlagshipONE e-methanol project reaches new milestone UK-headquartered Carbon Clean has started the module assembly process at Ørsted’s FlagshipONE project in Sweden, also known as Europe’s largest commercial-scale eMethanol facility under construction. The first equipment has been mounted on the structural steel of the first module, Carbon Clean said, noting that once operational, its technology will be capable of capturing 70,000 tonnes of biogenic CO2 per year for Ørsted’s facility. Aniruddha Sharma, Chair and CEO of Carbon Clean, stated: “This fabrication milestone underscores how Carbon Clean is on track with delivery for this pioneering eFuel project… Carbon capture technology is essential in decarbonising hard-to-abate sectors, such as shipping, but it also brings economic benefits through the development of local supply chains.” To remind, FlagshipONE, the largest commercial-scale Power-to-X facility of the Danish energy company Ørsted, is expected to be operational in 2025 and will supply up to 55,000 tonnes of eMethanol per year to the shipping industry.
