$20,000 SPOT PRICE…?😳 I’ve been following the shipping container spot prices for a little now. Projections clearly indicate that we're likely to witness some extreme price fluctuations once more. If you haven’t started budgeting for these increases, you may be in for some surprises. Again, the beauty of the SKUdrop model is the ability to store in China, drip feed inventory as you need and not pay for shipping up front. Some good news in troubled times. Average freight rates decreased by 58 %, with both contract rates and shipment rates declining according to latest news last week from A.P. Moller - Maersk. That means that one inflation driver for import products is out of the game. One example: a container 20 TEU has the capacity of 33 m3. The Philips filter coffee machine with thermo jug (made in China and 69.99 Euro at Amazon) has the dimensions 22,1D *25,5W *37H= 20 TEU loading volume is 1584 Coffee machines. 👍 The cost reduction is approx. 1.86 USD for retailers and hopefully consumers. 👉 So ask for better prices in negotiation concerning products with freight volume. #inflation #shipping #costs #costreduction #negotiation #pricing #pricereduction #retailing #import #kpi #maersk #supplychain #logistics #freight

Peak Season Tips # 1 : Get your orders for new inventory in early. In recent years we've seen too many problems crop up that have led to struggles getting Imports and orders in on time from Suppliers. Whether that has been limited staff at manufacturers, or Ports, or delays in sailings, bottlenecks, what have you. So our advice is to over estimate where you can on how much time it will take for your orders to get where you need them to be, and get those orders from your suppliers in early. #freightmanagement #peakseason #tips #inventory

It's baaaaack.... soaring freight rates and container shortages have again made importing products less attractive and more cumbersome, leading many companies to reconsider reshoring their manufacturing processes. During the 2022 supply crisis, Rutger Supply Chain Management School conducted a case study on Unionwear and determined that these factors had increased the breakeven quantity, where importing became truly more affordable than reshoring, from 500 to 5,000 units of baseball caps. https://lnkd.in/gJVyaXF2
