Thanks, as ever James Hudson and you make a very good observation Cat Peer and one that I've oft commented on myself. Sadly (as has already been commented), this reflects the worst cases of 'lazy hiring' that there are, as well as highlighting, how naive people are, about what good recruitment looks like. Spoiler alert - Hiring from 'Big Tech Co', will not make your company 'Big Tech Co', nor will it ensure similar success in whatever your venture is. Shock-horror! Indeed that 'Big Tech Co' hire, was actually a very small cog in a very large machine and so what you're actually getting, may be a quite narrow skill-set and after a while you may even tire of the words, 'when I was at 'Big Tech Co'.........' Caveat Emptor applies here. Hiring based on where someone has worked, as opposed to drilling into what they've actually done, dare I say, looking past where they've worked, is a cardinal recruitment error. That's it. Have a nice day everyone.

I genuinely enjoy the "new year new tagline" messages. Businesses, individuals, and always my favorite.. churches. First Sunday of the year, most churches drum up something juicy. Last year was the countless Jordan Year analogies. Anybody remember 2020 and "2020 vision"? Oh boy... Elevation Church and Pastor Steven always do a 10/10 job. But it's the first of the year yanno. Gotta bring out the big guns! This time the message was "One day when" and I had to share what I took from it, especially on the business side with my experience. When I was REAL young at Seamless.AI, it was incredibly stressful. Anybody that has every worked in a young startup, gets it. It's addicting, but it's hard. Really hard. A lot of hats. A lot of responsibility. Sometimes little structure. So many changes. Fast paced, exciting, always looking ahead. We used to always say "One day when (insert anything here)..." looking forward to the future. One day when we have this feature, one day when we hire XYZ position, one day when we have an office. Now we've grown up, and we find ourselves saying "Remember when?". You could say the same for new years resolutions.. We have a habit as humans to push things. ESPECIALLY in sales. One day I will start watching more film. One day I will start cold calling more. One day I will invest in myself. The game changes when you change "One day when" to "One day win" When you live in the past, depression. When you live in the future, anxiety. When you live in the present, peace. One day win. Get your one day win. 2024 is the year to win on day at a time. 24 hours at a time. All you are given, is today. One day I will start watching film. Do it now. One day I will start cold calling. Pick up the phone. Reframe it. Don't ever let the pain or the pressure presented today stop YOU from the grace of today. This is the day. One day when.... to one day win. #CarpeDiem #FindYourQuesadilla
