Wow, what an amazing event at the LevelUp Showcase yesterday. I played so many great and creative games made by some incredibly talented people that the industry will truly be honored to have them join their studios. I was so incredibly honoured to present the first ever "Achievement in Accessibility" award which Sledgehammer Games sponsored. A massive shoutout for the studio/team for allowing me to do so and a big thank you to all the judges that helped in this category, your support is incredible But also a massive shoutout to all the teams that incorporated some Accessibility Design aspects into their games. You're not only making your game projects more inclusive but also making the future of gaming a more welcoming and inclusive place for the future players, so thank you so much for that. I'd like to give a shoutout to the incredible winners last night in this category Honorable Mention: The Outreach - Ontario Tech University 3rd Place: Paw Pirates - University of Toronto & OCAD University 2nd Place: World Warlock - Algonquin College of Applied Arts and Technology 1st Place: Cosmic Justice - Brock University & Niagara College Once again thank you for taking in Accessibility Design into your projects, I can't wait to see what these teams have in store for the future! *I'd love to also thank Alayna Cole for presenting and pushing me to do this opportunity. Your support means the world to me.

It was a great experience being there, and thanks Eric McKey and everyone at Sledgehammer Games for presenting the awards! I was on the World Warlock team and I can say that, from all of us, it's great to see support for designing accessibly, and it'll hopefully inspire and push other game developers at Algonquin College of Applied Arts and Technology and other schools to do the same. Special shoutout to Josh Payette for doing a lot of the accessibility features (e.g. colour blind modes, subtitles, etc.) We also worked together on tutorials pretty heavily, trying to make the game as easy to understand as possible for new players. And another thanks to Allan Carter, one of our teammates who experiences photosensitivity. It made the aspect of designing accessibly a lot more personal, because the idea of creating a game that one of your team-members can't even play would be tragic. Thank you so much Eric! First place means so much to my team, especially with all of the hard work we put into the project to make it a "game anyone in the galaxy can enjoy" 😊
Congrats to the participants and way to go Eric for getting out and supporting our future game developers!
Omg I love this!!! Congrats to everyone involved!
