🎯 We have completed a year-long trial of dynamic line rating technology. 💡 Special sensors installed on overhead lines measured weather conditions and an innovative model assessed current and predicted potential line capacity. ⚡The test results show that the technology increased transmission line capacity by an average of 52%. ☀️ Dynamic line rating technology will allow more efficient use of existing electricity transmission infrastructure and fewer and less frequent restrictions on the operation of renewable energy plants at peak times. After successful trials, we plan to further deploy this technology on transmission lines. #EnergyTransformationPartners #RES #Innovation

New Scientific Article on "A semi-distributed charging strategy for electric vehicle clusters". This paper presents a semi-distributed control method for charging Electric Vehicle (EV) clusters, where the decision-making process takes place locally and don´t depend on an external controller. This approach ensures that charging demand can be fulfilled while achieving several goals, including following local renewable energy generation, pausing charging for transformer protection, and continuing charging progress in the absence of external information. This method was validated through simulations and experimental tests in a public demonstration, showing that it can efficiently manage EV cluster charging, while reducing strain on the power grid. Unlike many competing or self-made solutions, Power Integrations’ plug-and-play gate drivers are designed with the same footprint as the matching power module so that they can be mounted together as a single unit within the end application. This enables greater scalability and easier redevelopment as the spacing between power modules can be changed with minimal fuss; this might be, for example, to incorporate more cooling infrastructure in a high-power solar energy project.
