If you haven’t heard of “Greewashing” already, you soon will. Defined as: “A practice that involves the use of misleading langurage, imagery or claims to give the impression that a company or its products are more environmentally friendly than they actually are.” The Australian Government has committed to a 43% reduction in emissions by 2030 with a broader goal of achieving net zero by 2050 meaning companies in the logistics sector have to be working on these strategies now. Smartways already have a certified program with Climate Active that is in accordance with Global Greenhouse Gas Accounting and Reporting standards. While others are setting targets, Smartways is already delivering!

VALUE STATEMENT 1: The Operational Pillar - The Operational pillar focuses on increasing customer satisfaction and improving business processes that support service and product distribution and development by leveraging new technologies, addressing operational inefficiencies, and upholding high operational standards. The operational standards should align with global best practices that improve the production or service delivery process, whilst minimizing harm to the society, economy and environment. Best practices may include activities that make the products, work environment and project sites safe for all stakeholders, or promote resource management or circular economy practices, or incorporate new approaches to supply chain innovation and sustainable procurement into operational systems.
