Smithfield recently served as the presenting sponsor of the 2024 North Carolina Blueberry Festival held in Burgaw, NC, where our American Skin facility is located. In support of educational scholarships for local students, we donated 22 whole hogs for the event's cook-off. Following the contest, all chopped pork was sold to benefit the educational scholarships for students of Bladen, Duplin, New Hanover, Pender and Sampson counties.

Education unlocks potential, but financial barriers often block deserving students' paths—especially for first-generation and undocumented scholars. That's why we at Mission Graduates are proud to partner with the Mission Promise Neighborhood to provide critical support for students at John O'Connell High School. Our goal is to bridge the higher education gap. Even with traditional financial aid, students face tuition gaps, application fees, and technology costs. Undocumented students confront even greater hurdles as they don't qualify for government tuition assistance. Here's how you can make a difference: • Donate: Text MPNSF24 to 53-555 or visit givebutter.com/MPNSF24 to invest in their futures. • Volunteer: Let me know if you'd like to explore volunteering, including opportunities with scholarship selection. • Spread the Word: Share this post to raise awareness about #EducationEquity! #MissionGraduates #EducationEquity #UndocumentedStudents #FirstGeneration #CollegeAccess #SanFrancisco
This is how YOU can help Mission students get to college: The 9th annual Mission Promise Neighborhood Scholarship Fundraiser starts TODAY! For the past 9 years, Mission Promise Neighborhood (MPN) and Mission Graduates have teamed up to help college-bound seniors at John O'Connell High School reach the next step towards achieving their dreams with a college education. Today through May 15th, help us reach our goal of $10,000 to send our amazing Mission students to college. Donate by texting MPNSF24 to 53-555 or visiting givebutter.com/MPNSF24

Adams State University changes lives through access to high quality, affordable higher education. We are the state’s first HSI, and we are a majority minority institution. Furthermore, well over 50% of our students are first-gen. We serve the largest percentage of low-income students of any university in CO, and, according to the Chetty data, we do better than any other at moving those students up the income strata. For those who want to make a difference, donating is one way you can do just that: https://t.co/rlHlyu6Nw1

In a class offered by the Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy students gain real-world experience by giving away $10,000 in grant funding. In the hands-on course “Learning by Giving”, students learn and implement the process of making charitable grants and giving wisely, from deciding which community issues to address and writing requests for grant proposals to conducting site visits at nonprofits, evaluating applications, and deciding where to award real money. Crisis, such as the tragic fires in and around Ruidoso, reveal the character of people and businesses. Such as the extreme leadership of MATI’s Godfrey Enjady working tirelessly with friends, such as PVT’s James Meyers, to restore vital communications within and outside of their own service areas. Or the local businesses working together to meet the needs of those impacted. Local businesses matter and will be there when needed. I so appreciate the efforts of PVT’s employees organizing this effort to bring supplies to those in need. Chris & Tabitha Davis , Cassie Florez , Daniel Rodriguez, SHRM-CP and Ross Horner.
PVT would like to thank people in our communities for dropping off donations, and special thanks to Oasis Christian Fellowship in Carlsbad. Last night, PVT employees delivered the first truckload to the Mescalero Community Center. Two more truckloads to follow.
