Make every learning experience count with instructional design! ✨ To create effective and high-quality educational experiences, instructional designers must focus on four key pillars: 𝟭. 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘇𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: Tailoring teaching to each student's skills, interests, and previous experiences. 🌱 𝟮. 𝗙𝗹𝗲𝘅𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗔𝗱𝗮𝗽𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆: Using a variety of educational techniques and strategies, adjusting to the needs of students beyond personal preferences. 🔄 𝟯. 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝗽𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗮𝗰𝗵: Maintaining an open attitude towards experimentation and understanding that trial and error are vital parts of the continuous improvement process. 🔬 𝟰. 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗰 𝗨𝘀𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆: Selecting educational technology that genuinely enriches learning, adapting to current circumstances. 💡 These principles ensure that learning experiences are meaningful, relevant, and accessible to all students, contributing to the evolution of educational practices that value the diversity of learning. How do you apply these elements in your instructional design practice? Share your strategies. #InstructionalDesign #PersonalizedLearning #ContinuousImprovement

When I taught, I would often read Harry Wong's book, The First Days of School, before each school year. Mastering instructional design is key to creating engaging and effective learning experiences. Throughout the year, I like to look back at some of the basic practices I use on every project - I find it similar to reading Harry Wong's book before the start of every school year. Here are some best practices I use to elevate my work: 1) KYA-Know Your Audience: Tailor content to learners' needs and preferences. 2) Set clear objectives: Define what learners should know or be able to do after the training (I try to avoid writing these as objectives within the training unless specifically asked). 3) Engage with multimedia: Use a mix of visuals, audio, and interactive elements to keep learners engaged. 4) Foster active learning: Incorporate activities that encourage participation and application of knowledge. 5) Provide feedback: Offer timely and constructive feedback to support learners' growth. By embracing these best practices, I've learned to create impactful learning experiences that drive results. Maybe this will help someone or simply serve as a refresher. #InstructionalDesign #eLearning #Training
