After spending the day yesterday with the team at Neversink River Resort, I’m reminded that the magic happens with our teams “on the ground” - all other roles at Team Outsider are designed to support and empower their success. Hot tip: if you join our support team you must be open to feedback and comfortable with change. Our Home Office team (all roles supporting our on-site teams) can only be effective by listening to feedback from our General Managers and on-site teams. This looks like not being afraid to pivot our approach. It means knowing we will be building (and rebuilding) processes until we meet the needs of our teams. It is understanding that while we may be an expert in our field (operations, marketing, people, finance), we are only as successful as our expertise can translate into removing frustrations for our teams and finding ways to earn their trust.
