I recently had the pleasure of attending an insightful presentation by Chilean architect Sebastian Irarrazaval hosted by Te Kāhui Whaihanga NZ Institute of Architects. His approach to architecture as both a guest and host resonated deeply with me, particularly in the context of structural engineering. By considering structure as an integrated system early in the concept stage, we as engineers can enhance the design to better complement and support the architecture itself. Sebastián also emphasized the importance of translating diverse ideas, which can open up new perspectives and interpretations. This can lead to an entirely new architectural language, pushing boundaries in how we design, construct, and experience buildings. It's always inspiring to explore the intersection of architecture and engineering to create more holistic, sustainable solutions. #Architecture #StructuralEngineering #SustainableDesign #Innovation
