𝗗𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄 the innovative solutions from Fortuna Cools, where they create and make insulated packaging from leftover coconut husk fibres, sourced from small-scale farmers?

Fortuna Cools’ vision is to replace plastic foam insulation once and for all and by utilising organic waste such as left over coconut husk fibres, not only they reduced the plastic waste in the landfill and in the ocean, but also create job opportunities and supporting agricultural communities.
Likewise, in our environmental conservation activity and programme at our River Three SDG Park, coconuts are abundance all year round.
While we are not making insulated packaging like Fortuna Coolers, we are utilising coconut husk as mulching for riverine and biodiversity restoration work.
Due to the size of our River Three Park, we need enormous amount of coconut husk for the riverine restoration work.
We are delighted to have extra helping hands, volunteers from Accenture, collecting another round of dried coconuts and create a new pile of new husks for our use.
As part of our collaboration with the school, SMK Taman Melawati, we implement 𝗘𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗦𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 (ESD), to educate secondary students on green education and skills.
One of the many activities we do is Circular Economy Pod/Place-based (CEP). To turn a coconut into coco husk, peak, coir/fiber and coco husk pieces for many usage, we need to equip the school with the appropriate machinery, tools and set up a composting hub.
If your organisation is keen to collaborate on a Circular Economy programme that not only benefit the local community, but also impact on the riverine restoration from the CEP programme, let’s have conversation to find out more and how.
