Creating the Workforce for an Oil and Gas Industry in Transition: The energy industry needs to re-skill its workforce as both energy and carbon managers. The "measurement economy" will require new skills, and it's time for new thinking on talent acquisition for the energy industry. We should be very proud of our US energy independence, but now "measured net zero energy" is coming faster than expected. Great report. https://lnkd.in/gVmWB_p2

Clean energy executive with strong track record of developing large scale renewable projects and creating commercial value.
Great to see the surge in American clean energy jobs reflected in the Department of Energy’s latest report. This 2023 analysis shows clean energy employment growing by 3.9% from 2021 to 2022, outpacing the broader economy’s 3.1% growth rate. Notably, states like Texas and Idaho are leading the way, with some of the fastest rates of clean energy job growth. Job creation like this is crucial, making a long-term, positive impact on local economies and American communities. Ørsted is proud to be creating both permanent and temporary jobs for our onshore wind, solar, and battery projects, boosting local economies and supporting workers from Texas to Illinois. https://lnkd.in/eaaZCWqf 06/2023%20USEER%20REPORT-v2.pdf

Exciting News for Clean Energy Employment! 🌱🚀 Just came across a fascinating report from the DOE on Utility Dive and I couldn't be more optimistic about the future of clean energy jobs. What's even more encouraging is that this growth is happening across various sectors, including solar, wind, and energy efficiency. 'Transmission, distribution and storage, or TDS, employed over 1.4 million workers in 2023 and the employment growth rate is accelerating, expanding by 3.8% in 2023, up from 2.2% in 2022' I've personally experienced Electrical Contractors building out both their Clean Energy and T&D Divisions which is always exciting to see. It's definitely important to get the right people in place to support your company's growth in an unfamiliar market to some. Would love to hear your thoughts—how is the clean energy boom impacting your industry or career plans?

America’s clean energy workforce is growing, with big gains from offshore wind jobs. According to a recent study from the Department of Energy, the number of jobs in American offshore wind surged by 20% from 2021 to 2022. We work on offshore wind workforce development every day, but statistics like this one help put our efforts in perspective. Offshore wind is building a new American workforce, providing job training, funding education and support services scholarships, and transitioning workers into long-term, well-paid, high-quality careers. I’m proud of Ørsted’s work on this front, and for what that work means to our communities: not having to choose between clean power and gold-standard careers. As the energy industry increases its focus on renewables it’s going to need more people. But there’s confusion and concern among both employers and employees over what the future energy landscape will look like and what role they will play in it. Lack of political clarity and guidance on energy policy in the UK, US and elsewhere, means it’s difficult for companies and individual workers to see a path ahead. That’s creating a lack confidence, leading to a short-term approach to investment in talent. It’s fuelling misunderstandings and myths about recruitment opportunities in energy – a common issue for oil and gas recruitment agencies in Aberdeen and recruitment agencies in Houston. https://lnkd.in/e9vWk_tM #energy #utilities #workforce #energyworkforce #energytransition #cleanenergyjobs
