Medical Affairs and Clinical Development Recruiter | 90% CV to interview ratio | Biotech, Pharma, and CROs | USA & Canada
The eternal dilemma in clinical development hiring persists: Specialty physician straight from academia or industry-experienced generalist? Companies are increasingly opting for board-eligible physicians for specialized roles, such as hiring an endocrinologist for a metabolic drug development program. This move offers a competitive advantage in specialized knowledge but raises critical considerations: - Is the candidate equipped to handle the fast-paced industry environment? - Can physicians accustomed to independence in private practice or academia thrive in a collaborative, managed setting? - Do you have the financial capacity to make a competitive offer compared to private practice earnings? - In case of project failure, can you sustain the specialist /does your therapeutic pipeline support retention? If any of these raise concerns, a generalist physician with extensive industry experience in the specific therapeutic area might be a viable alternative. These adaptable individuals bring valuable drug development insights and possess a continuous learning mindset. While there's no universal solution, my sentiment remains strong that generalist physicians play a crucial role in the industry. Embracing diverse perspectives and skill sets enriches the clinical development landscape. #ClinicalDevelopment #PhysicianHiring #Clinicaljobs #recruitment

B Pharma Graduate | Certified in Clinical Research, Pharmacovigilance, & Medical Coding | Aspiring Clinical Research Professional
Excited to share my perspective on career choices in the healthcare industry for women! 🌐💼 Here's a subjective scale (1-10) based on factors like career growth, work-life balance, and industry demand: 1)Clinical Data Management (CDM): 8/10 CDM offers strong career growth, especially with the increasing reliance on data in healthcare. Remote opportunities and work-life balance contribute to its appeal. 2)Regulatory Affairs (RA): 7/10 RA is crucial for navigating regulatory landscapes. It provides stability and opportunities for advancement but might have a steeper learning curve. 3)Clinical Research (CR): 6/10 CR provides a broad understanding of clinical trials. Career growth can be significant, but the workload and travel requirements may impact work-life balance. 4)Pharmacovigilance (PV): 7/10 PV is essential for drug safety. It offers stable career prospects, but work intensity and regulatory scrutiny can vary. 5)Medical Coding (MC): 6/10 Medical coding is specialized and in demand. Career growth is possible, but it may not offer as broad a scope as other options. #WomenInHealthcare #CareerChoices #CDM #RA #CR #PV #MC

Career transitions from clinical to non-clinical roles can face societal challenges, especially in smaller communities where traditional expectations prevail. Here's the thing a previous manager taught me about #MedicalScienceLiaison teams-- You don't have to be like anyone else. Someone else might be smarter. A better presenter. A better relationship builder. A better clinician. A better researcher. The BEST MSL teams have a mix of: ✳️Backgrounds ✳️Personalities ✳️Strengths Keep being you, whether you are already on a team or you are an #aspiringmsl.
