There are seven foundation blocks upon which communities are built. They are honor, confidentiality, trust, caring, simplicity, communication and connection. All seven of these areas must be present in order for true community to happen. Anytime one or more elements of these elements are missing the weaker the community is. Therefore, those who are working to build community need to recognize that each of these elements is essential in order for community to be built and to thrive. This is especially true and the smallest element of community, which is the family.

There’s power in connection! Relationships are essential to a successful recovery journey. Strong social networks provide the support, hope and love needed to overcome challenges.
