Rock Power Connections raises incredible amount for charity and survives The Three Peaks Challenge! 🏔️ Brutal and proud. Just two of the words chosen to describe the mammoth Three Peaks Challenge that team Rock took on. Brutal, in 24 hours the team battled 23-miles in three stages, total ascent of 3064 metres with snow, 85MPH+ winds, hail and torrential rain. Proud. The team took on a selfless challenge to battle conditions out of their control to raise an incredible amount of money for two life changing charities – Scotty’s Little Soldiers and SoS: Silence of Suicide. From the set out the team knew it would be a difficult challenge, the miserable weather conditions, the timings, traffic, ability and fitness – but that wasn’t going to stop the team raising £5305.00! The event took place over the weekend of the 13th-15th September, with 4 teams of 3 which all set off in 5-minute intervals and started in a very wet, windy Scotland. Hi guys Please listen to this reel, for 5 months I’ve banged on about this 24 Peaks in 24 hours challenge and finally this week after a long slog it’s happening Friday. Here I explain the WHY to this challenge, not that we have just lost our absolute minds but to raise extremely important funds for My Name'5 Doddie Foundation & the MND community. MND is a horrific disease that affects the persons ability to move, talk, eat, drink and breathe. It’s a fatal disease. However MND isn’t incurable it’s massively underfunded. We can change this, I didn’t know about MND until 18 months ago, my friends didn’t know about it, some still don’t.. By us taking on these challenges we’re raising awareness of it and have got people talking across Ipswich and beyond. MND doesn’t discriminate it doesn’t just pick rugby or football players they are just who you hear about. It could be one of your family members or your friend.
