Did you know invasive plants are covered by legislation? In the UK it is an offence to plant or cause to grow in the wild plants listed on Schedule 9 of the Wildlife and Countryside Act (1981): https://lnkd.in/eimKSYRE. Identifying invasive plants on a site early can save costs and complications. Get in touch with us if you need help identifying a potentially invasive plant species on your site. #invasiveplantremoval #commercialsiteclearance #invasiveplant

ALL HANDS ON DECK: Congress might REPEAL critical protections for endangered species and BAN more from being created! >> Endangered and threatened species like gray wolves, grizzly bears, and dune sagebrush lizards are IN THE CROSSHAIRS. Trophy hunters, Big Oil lobbyists, and extremists in Congress have been trying to repeal protections for these critters – and new legislation in Congress means they’re one step closer to succeeding! Why would anyone want to hurt these poor, defenseless animals? The answer is corporate greed. Animals like the dune sagebrush lizard live in habitats where big companies want to frack, drill, and mine. Repealing protections for these creatures allows greedy companies to further scar our lands and pollute nearby communities! Please stop Congress from GUTTING the Endangered Species Act before it’s too late! Sign by 11:59pm TONIGHT! SIGN THE PETITION https://lnkd.in/gH38KKA4

Of all life forms on Earth, animals, being an integral part of natural ecosystems, play a critical role in maintaining their health. Unfortunately, many animal species are endangered today, with some facing the risk of extinction. The extinction of these species represents not only a unique loss but also a significant threat to the proper functioning of our entire ecosystem. #ErmanTextile #MurrDesign #TextileIndustry #CustomApparel #QualityCraftsmanship #ComfortAndElegance #SustainableFashion #InnovationInTextiles #FashionForward #MadeToOrder #ReliablePartnership #CustomerIntimacy #AuthenticityMatters #SmallMOQ #Flexibility #B2BSales

Animals are living, breathing, and feeling beings, just like us. We all share the same love of life and the desire to avoid pain. Many of us consider animals like cats and dogs to be family members. Some of us might even describe ourselves as “animal lovers.” Yet, we treat farmed animals as mere objects or machines that exist for our use. We bring them into the world only to be brutally killed at a small fraction of their natural lifespans so that humans can eat their flesh and reproductive products. Worldwide, over 70 billion land animals are raised and killed yearly, 1 including over 800 million in Canada. 2 These numbers do not include the trillions of aquatic animals killed yearly. 🌱 #AnimalWelfareMatters #sustainablefarming #FactoryFarming #StopAnimalCruelty #climatecrisis #meatlessmonday #GoVeganForThePlanet

Deforestation is a major problem that is having a devastating impact on wildlife. When trees are cut down, animals lose their homes and habitats. This can lead to the decline or extinction of animal species. The cartoon by Chris Madden effectively highlights this issue by showing the many different animals that live in a single tree. The fact that the tree is being cut down with the animals still in it shows the urgency of the problem. We need to do more to protect our forests and the wildlife that lives in them #environment

Today is World Migratory Bird Day! This year’s theme is “Protect Insects, Protect Birds." You can help protect birds by making your yard, garden or other green space into a Certified Wildlife Habitat. Thriving native habitats free of pesticide help ensure birds have enough insects to eat and feed to their young. Flying thousands of miles expends huge amounts of energy for migratory birds, and it’s critical for them to have protein rich meals along the way. What migratory birds have you spotted in Iowa? Learn more about turning your yard to garden into a Certified Wildlife Habitat that will support insects and birds: https://lnkd.in/gWu3s9R2

COVID-19 has been shown to have bi-directionality in transmission between humans and white-tailed deer (Odocoileus virginianus). Other species in zoo/captive management have become infected via human caretakers. As talked about in the research, this raises concerns over the creation of new variants that may or may not be more severe and infective, especially in spillover events. We often think of these events as only affecting or being a concern for humans, but they affect animal species as well (e.g., avian influenza to non-avian species).
The virus that causes COVID-19 has been detected in some wildlife species, raising concerns that new variants could spill back to humans. A new USDA grant is funding research into other U.S. wildlife species that could be affected. https://hubs.li/Q022H9Pk0
