🇧🇼 Desperately thirsty animals trapped in muddy death traps as waterholes run dry in Botswana! But there is a solution, and it involves YOU! 🫵 Severe drought has dried up crucial waterholes in Botswana, leaving countless hippos, elephants, and other wild animals dying of thirst. Even worse, the waterholes have transformed into thick, sticky mud and as animals wade in to find a drop to drink, they get stuck and slowly bake to death under the relentless sun. No animal should have to die this way. We have a solution, but we need your help. With your support, we will empower our partner, Camelthorn Farmstead, to purchase and install solar-powered pumps at two critical sites, refilling the waterholes and providing a sustainable water source for hundreds of dehydrated animals. 🔗 We need your support to save their lives, please share and donate via our website: https://bit.ly/ASI_BODR10L. We provide practical help whenever possible to restore habitats and provide safe havens. Our supporters help us raise public awareness, spread the facts and communicate the urgency of action needed to save millions of animal species and the environments on which they depend. PAL lobbies public representatives and governments to improve legislation that affects animal welfare. The organisation works to ensure that governments are informed about animal welfare issues, that legislation is enforced and that all forms of media are alert to abuse and cruelty.

🇧🇼 As Botswana suffers through a devastating drought, we are striving to implement long-term solutions to save animal lives, now and well into the future. Read how YOU can get involved below! ☀️ Botswana is one of the most drought-prone countries in the world. In recent years, the worsening climate crisis has caused droughts to become longer and much more severe – which is exactly what’s happening right now, as the country bakes under the worst drought in 40 years. With authorities focused on feeding the people as crops fail, countless wild animals are left with barely a drop to drink. Our goal is to provide sustainable water sources that will save lives today and provide this life-giving resource for many years. With your help, we can save the animals that are dying right now as rains refuse to fall while protecting countless more from suffering in the future. 🔗 Find out how you can help us bring crucial relief to elephants, hippos, giraffes, and more today: https://bit.ly/ASI_BODR10L. What do champagne corks, hot dogs and ladders have in common? They all kill more people than sharks annually – yet people slaughter over 100 million sharks each and every year...🦈 Despite what the dramatic and highly unrealistic movie Jaws might suggest, sharks do not see humans as prey. In fact, almost all shark attacks are accidental, with the predator mistaking a human for a seal or another prey animal. Sharks are intelligent, curious creatures that are absolutely crucial to the health of marine ecosystems, playing a critical role in protecting coral reefs, kelp forests, and other oceanic carbon sinks. In the fight to save our oceans and the planet, it is vital to dispel the myth of the shark as inherently dangerous, a villain to be killed so others may live. In reality, the opposite is true: without sharks, marine ecosystems would collapse, fast-tracking climate change and leading to countless deaths, both human and animal. 🔗 Find out more about these fascinating creatures and how you can help save them on our website: https://lnkd.in/dV_hdbjT. 🇧🇼 Life-saving water is flowing for animals in drought-ravaged Botswana, thanks to YOU and our long-term partner, The Brady Hunter Foundation! 🙌 💧In Phase 1 of our drought relief initiative, your donations have enabled us to more than double the water supply for a pool that provides water for 120 hippos and hundreds of other animals every day. 💧In Phase 2, we installed a new borehole with a solar-powered pump. Despite some unforeseen challenges, our team completed the installation, and the new borehole is now pumping more water to animals both inside and outside the Makgadikgadi National Park. None of this would have been possible without you, our compassionate supporters, and the generosity of The Brady Hunter Foundation. With Phase 2 compete, we’re looking forward to bringing even more water to animals across northern Botswana. Botswana’s deadly drought is decimating wild animal populations, and two critical waterholes have run dry. Please help us install water pumps NOW. 🇧🇼 🦛 Thanks to our supporters, we are supplying life-saving water for animals suffering through Botswana’s worst drought in over 40 years. Together, we have saved countless animals from dehydration in the relentless heat. Recently, we discovered that hippos, elephants, giraffes, and more are dying on the banks of two dried-out waterholes in northeastern Botswana. Desperate for a drop to drink, the animals wade through thick, sticky mud, get trapped, and slowly bake to death under the African sun. Luckily, there is a solution. Our partner, Camelthorn Farmstead, is ready to purchase and install two solar-powered pumps to help refill the waterholes and provide a crucial water supply for thousands of thirsty animals. All we need now is the funds. 🔗 We must help these animals in Botswana, and you can make a difference – find out how you can help today: https://bit.ly/ASI_BODR10L. Chained, drugged, and abused: Elephants, big cats and more are being exploited in Thailand for tourist dollars. 🇹🇭 With your help, we can help save them. 👇 Tourism is a big business in Thailand, contributing billions of dollars to the nation’s economy every year. But sadly, there is a dark undercurrent to this industry – the relentless abuse of wild animals. Tourists seeking exotic experiences flock to ride elephants and take selfies with tigers. Yet few realize that behind their cute photos, the animals are subjected to immense suffering. Elephants are ridden until their backs cave in, then they are simply discarded by their owners. Tigers are chained and drugged to keep them docile as tourists pet them and pose for pics, then cast into tiny concrete cells for the night – it's a nightmare for wildlife. Our partner, Wildlife Friends Foundation Thailand (WFFT), works tirelessly to rescue wild animals from these horrendous conditions, but tragically, they have run out of space. We urgently need to expand their facilities so they can continue rescuing animals being victimized for human greed and entertainment. 🔗 We need your help to support our amazing partner's work – find out how you can help today: https://bit.ly/ASI_THWF10L. 🇹🇭 With no more space at our partner sanctuary in Thailand, abused tigers like Susu cannot be saved – but YOU can change that! 🐅 For 15 long, hard years, Bengal tiger Susu was used and abused for human ‘entertainment.’ Every day of her imprisonment was torture. When she wasn’t chained up so tourists could pose for photos, she was confined to a tiny, barren concrete cell. After our partner, Wildlife Friends Foundation Thailand (WFFT), rescued her, Susu felt grass under her feet for the first time in her sad, painful life. Now, she receives proper care, nutrition, and a life close to freedom in a near-natural habitat. Many animals like her are still trapped in horrific zoos or breeding facilities – but tragically, WFFT has run out of space. Unless we can expand their shelter, these animals will continue to be ruthlessly abused. 🔗 Every day we delay means more suffering for big cats, elephants, and more. 🙌 YOUR support helped our Zimbabwean partner stop poachers in their tracks – and they're using rescue dogs to do it! 🇿🇼 Since a crocodile destroyed their previous patrol boat in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe, ASI has proudly assisted the Matetsi Anti-Poaching Unit (MAPU) in securing a new one! This new craft will help them effectively navigate otherwise hard-to-reach areas, removing snares and catching poachers. In addition, we assisted in funding a drone that will allow them to better spot illegal activities from the air. We are particularly passionate about supporting MAPU’s work because of their commitment to training rescue dogs for their K9 Unit. Many of these dogs come from the Friend Animal Foundation (FAF), a long-term partner of our sister organization, Network for Animals. The dogs are carefully selected and trained to serve a vital role in wildlife protection. As tracking and sniffer dogs, they help locate poachers and assist in finding injured animals in need of care during patrols, supporting our team in their mission to safeguard the area’s wild animals. Thank you for your continued support – without generous donors like you, we would not be able to help these wildlife warriors save animals and nab poachers! Unless we expand a crucial Thai sanctuary, exploited tigers will be condemned to suffer. 🇹🇭 🐅 In Thailand, countless tigers are used and abused for human ‘entertainment’ or ruthlessly bred to feed the tourist industry – or, even worse, to be used in disgusting traditional ‘medicines.’ Our partner, Wildlife Friends Foundation Thailand (WFFT), is one of the few organizations that works to rescue big cats, bears, and other animals from the relentless suffering they are subjected to. Tragically, the sanctuary has run out of space, forcing them to turn away animals in desperate need. We have an excellent opportunity to expand the sanctuary by purchasing a neighboring piece of land, which will be transformed into a beautiful space for the animals to call home. Every day we delay is another day that tigers, bears, and other wild animals are forced to endure unimaginable pain and abuse. 🔗 If you can, please donate whatever amount to help these precious and desperate souls: https://bit.ly/ASI_THWF10L. Animal Survival International joins FOUR PAWS in demanding improved animal welfare in South Africa! In celebration of World Animal Day, the ASI team, FOUR PAWS, our sister organization at Network for Animals, and countless animal lovers gathered outside Cape Town’s parliament buildings to hand over a memorandum urging a more effective approach to animal welfare. This formed part of a larger movement that demands South African politicians recognize all animals’ sentience and commit to safeguarding their well-being. FOUR PAWS also unveiled and handed over a stunning 1.5-meter tapestry, symbolically bringing animals into the heart of our legislative process. We are proud to have played a part in supporting this crucial initiative, driving improved animal welfare at a government level in a country beset by poachers, wildlife traffickers, and trophy hunters. #ASISpecialDays #AnimalSurvivalInternational #ASI #WildlifePreservation #WildlifeConservation #Wildlife #FourPaws #AnimalWelfareSA #WorldAnimalDay #AnimalRights #AnimalAdvocacy #AnimalProtection #EndWildlifeCrime #AnimalSentience #LiveKinder
