For many ANZ employers the graduate recruitment season is about to begin. Career fairs, applicant screening, psychometric assessments, video interviews, assessment centres and on it goes. It's daunting for applicants. Exhausting for recruiters. Expensive for employers. Yet it doesn't need to be that complex. In the US, employers reach offer stage after two rounds of interviews. As we approach the finishing line for most Graduates whether its exams or completion of their dissertations, I have been asked by some graduates for a few tips when aplying for jobs. 1. Tailor your CV and cover letter to each job application to highlight relevant skills and experiences. 2. Network with professionals in your desired industry through events, LinkedIn, and informational interviews. 3. Showcase your soft skills, such as communication, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities, in your application and interviews. 4. Research the company and role you are applying for to demonstrate your interest and knowledge during interviews. 5. Practice for interviews by preparing answers to common questions and conducting mock interviews with friends or career advisors. 6. Be proactive in your job search by applying to a variety of roles, attending career fairs, and following up on applications. 7. Consider gaining additional skills or certifications through online courses or workshops to enhance your qualifications.
