On 2024/1/16 at a Sony Network Communications Event in Tokyo, Authentic Japan president Kuga announced that they would supply 150 children's lifejackets, each equipped with an ELTRES-enabled transmitter to improve marine safety for tourist boats in the Shiretoko National Park in Hokkaido. ELTRES can communicate over long distances, and the high sensitivity allows reception even when the transmitter is close to the water. Transmitter power is constant no matter how far from the receiver base-station, so the battery life does not deteriorate quickly as can occur with cellular-based devices.
