I had the pleasure of spending time and making a presentation to our class of 2024 summer interns at LG Electronics North America. The purpose was to share my career journey and share my roles, responsibilities, and experiences. I wanted to leave them with valuable advice that was passed on to me early in my career, as they begin their journey in the business world after graduation. 1) Your career isn’t going to be defined by one job. Don’t stress, you will find your rhythm 2) Ask questions…knowledge is power for making informed decisions and shows people that you want to learn 3) Don’t be a keyboard warrior – get off your chair and have a conversation 4) Be comfortable….being uncomfortable. Adversity will make you more confident 5) Have a plan when tackling a project and share it with stakeholders before you implement. Clearly state your objectives, desired result, set KPIs and success metrics. Get their buy-in! 6) Mistakes happen – embrace it, own it, and learn from it 7) You're not going to like everyone you work with, and they may not like you. However, you need to learn how to work with each other 8) Participate in a 401k financial program from your employer on your start date - max the contribution #LGElectronics, #LIFESGOOD

Hello Connections, I’m beyond excited to share that I’ve successfully completed my summer internship at LG Electronics. This journey has been an incredible learning experience, and I'd like to highlight some key takeaways: 1. Hands-on Experience with Digital Tools: Mastered essential tools that drive impactful digital marketing campaigns. 2. Understanding of Content Marketing: Grasped the art of crafting and strategizing content that resonates with audiences. 3. Learning Performance Marketing Campaigns: Gained insights into designing and executing result-driven performance campaigns. 4. I am thrilled to announce that I have successfully completed my Summer Internship as a Marketing and Sales intern at LG Electronics. This has been an amazing learning and growing experience, professionally. *Project Highlights:* 1. Split AC and OLED TV Comparative Market Analysis 2. Found issues on how marketing and branding are approached 3. Measured against intentions of LG's main competitors 4. Innovative strategies such as offering an extended warranty, reduction of the installation charges & a cashback offer for differentiated wall compartments used to house AC units. 5. Market efficiency was suggested using more colorful POSM (Point of Sale Materials). *Customer Perspective:* 1. Developed knowledge of how perspectives could vary among customers and their needs. 2. Acquired persuasion skills to make customer satisfaction happen. 3. Highlighted the value of being in additional brand and product awareness communications. *Sales Experience:* 1. Worked as a sales intern in the store over  1 weeks. 2. Acquired the core foundation of sales, negotiation and customer obtaining. 3. Realized the importance of understanding product features in depth for a successful sales pitch. *Skills Developed:* 1. Market Analysis 2. Strategic Planning 3. Customer Engagement 4. Sales Techniques 5. Negotiation 6. Product Knowledge Of course, I am grateful to my workplace mentors and professor at college for making this possible, supported by which I get chance to learn new things & working on it. Concluding my 6-month internship at Lancôme TRAPAC feels like coming down from a roller coaster. The ride has been full of excitement, challenges, introspection, and, of course, happiness. As I gained knowledge of the travel retail market, I was so impressed by how it creates unique experiences for the consumers and how L'Oréal conquers it as the 6th continent. I'm glad that I had the chance to be in this fast-changing environment, as well as to understand and learn to live with the changes. I would not be able to get my feet on the ground safely without my team, to whom I would like to express my gratitude for their support in my daily work and in my long-term career development. I was given plenty of opportunities to explore the industry and the channels, to interact with stakeholders, and to see my insights bring a positive influence to the work of my colleagues. This helped me to take on multiple perspectives at work, nourishing my communication skills and critical thinking skills. At the same time, assisting in media and CRM campaigns allowed me to discover my interest in consumer behaviors and data. It's exhilarating for me to observe consumers' actual actions in the designed user journeys, which tells a rich story with the power of data. Empowered by this passion and the experience I've obtained in this internship, I'm ready to embrace the challenges in the new chapter of my career path. It's kinda crazy when you look back and realize who drastically changed the course of your life. Meet Peter: My friend, mentor & a very average surfer ;) (this is a story about taking a chance on people) In 2012, I completed an internship at Philips. In 2013, a mid-senior-level marketing role opened up. Fresh from my internship,  with very little experience and a whole lot of dreams & determination... I applied for the position. The other candidates had 10-20 years more experience. (I mean, can you see the confidence here?) Guess who got the job? Your boy did! 😎 My manager, Peter, saw: ✔️My drive, ✔️My willingness, and ✔️My positive go-getter energy. And took a chance on me. He believed skills could be taught. But drive? Not really. And that is how I ended up as a  ↳ 24-year-old, dashing marketing manager at Philips. I worked there for 3 years before pursuing other things. But, Peter and I stayed in touch. ↳ we became good friends. 🍻 Last week, Peter visited Bali, and we got talking. I asked him why he hired me back then.  ↳ He said... he saw himself in me. 🥺 (I know, I'll pause for you to wipe your tears) Now, Peter may not know this, but his belief  ↳ shaped how I run my business today. → I hire people for their drive. Because like him,  ↳ I believe skills can be taught. My friend, Take a chance on people if you have an opportunity.  ↳ You'll impact more lives than one. Taking a moment to BRAGG… Two weeks ago the Travel Retail Worldwide division at The Estée Lauder Companies Inc. completed it’s THIRD summer hosting interns from my beloved Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University. Since inception, THIRTY students have had the opportunity to spend a summer in NYC 🍎 discovering & learning about a career in the beauty industry. 🌟 Five lessons learned along the way 🌟 1. Developing a strategy that provides opportunities to grow 🎯 From day one, we sat out not only to build a pipeline of talent but using the opportunity to shape future leaders in the beauty industry. We created a strategy that allowed us to grow over the years, adding increased levels of engagement to expand our reach. 2. Delivering real impact 🌍 I was amazed at how engaging interns with meaningful projects and responsibilities energized both them and the teams. Year 1 of the program coincided with us returning to the office and the intern energy was truly infectious. Seeing their work have a tangible impact on our business was incredibly rewarding for everyone involved. 3. Power of mentorship 🤝 We made it a priority to pair interns with dedicated mentors. This hands-on support and guidance proved invaluable, providing interns with not only professional development but also a sense of belonging within our teams. 4. Broadening horizons 🎓 We implemented a range of learning opportunities, from lunch and learns, networking events and community service activities, to provide interns a well-rounded experience. This approach helped them gain diverse skills and perspectives that extended beyond their daily responsibilities. 5. Embracing flexibility and feedback 🗣️ Flexibility is key. We remain open to adjusting the program in response to feedback and changing needs allowing us to stay relevant and effective to ensure a positive experience for all. Building this program has been a journey filled with learning and growth, both for the interns and the organization. I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve accomplished and excited for what’s next.
