So, you know those off-site meetings? It is way more than just a break from the same old routine. They're like the magic potion for syncing the team and sparking new ideas. And we, the commercial crew, have a front-row seat to how crucial these get-togethers are. And let me tell you, our off-site in Kerpen was nothing short of extraordinary! We kicked off the event with kart racing. The competitive spirit came to life on the race track within the first seconds. Statements like "It is only fun!" were gone by the wind. Sadly, I can't claim victory, but at least I'm now a pro at decoding F1 flags. (The blue one in particular).😉 After a karaoke party (no details can be shared), we continued with a short hiking tour. Well, let's not get too fancy – it was more of a stroll. Real hiking? That needs, what, a 500-meter climb, right? Our off-site confirmed once again that spending time on these adventures pays back big time. The memories, the lessons, and the bonds we built? They're like the secret sauce for keeping the team vibes high. #RoyalFarWest #RideforCountryKids https://lnkd.in/gnZDK_5f Last week, along with 49 other riders and 20 support crew, I completed the 3 day Royal Far West ride for country kids fundraising cycle in beautiful, hilly, NSW far south coast (Merimbula, Bega, Eden, Bermagui).  During the hours in the saddle, your mind wanders and observations follow, such as..... although we were all individual cyclists, it was so noticeable how we joined as a team. And how all of our motivations were so totally in-sync. We wanted to finish safely as a peloton, and not leave anyone behind. We wanted to fulfil our commitments to our sponsors and smash our fundraising targets. We were doing good things for ourselves (fitness, enjoying the ride, the scenery, the camaraderie, the feeling of accomplishment) and as a natural consequence - as a natural byproduct - we were doing good for others. Total alignment. The Business Leaders I work with often talk about goal alignment. About energising and congruent plans and objectives. Last week a bunch of cyclists of very varied ability who meet very infrequently, came together, and acheived this. 🚴♂️ The Power of Surrounding Yourself with High Performers 🚴♀️ Yesterday, I had an incredible experience riding with my bike club for an 80-kilometer ride. It was one of the most challenging rides I've completed yet, but I absolutely loved the feeling of giving everything and the sense of accomplishment it brought! You see, when you surround yourself with high performers, they push you to go further and climb higher than you ever thought possible. During our ride, there were moments when I wanted to stop, but the energy and determination of my fellow riders inspired me to dig deep and keep pedaling. The benefits of riding with my club go far beyond just the physical challenge. We celebrate each other's victories, learn from one another's experiences, and grow together as athletes and individuals. The camaraderie and accountability within the group are unbeatable. So, here's my advice: surround yourself with high performers in every area of your life. Embrace the opportunity to be part of a community that pushes you to reach new heights and achieve goals you never thought possible. Trust me, when you have the right people by your side, there's no limit to what you can accomplish. Every challenge becomes a stepping stone to the next, and every victory is celebrated together. 3/7/24 Update: SHE DID IT!! 💪 Cole sailed into Spain in the early morning hours today! Fun fact: Cole's boat is named First Light, and she intentionally slowed down her pace to come in at "first light", versus darkness, in honor of her trusted partner that brought her safely back to shore. Original post: Things I'm learning from Cole Brauer: 1. Sometimes growth happens in the tightest spaces. 2. Making room for the softer parts of life (like fleece blankets) allows you the comfort to be human, even if it means they take up space. 3. Be yourself, you don't need to be anyone else. 4. Connection (even from afar )makes you stronger. 5. Winds and waves will happen. Allow yourself to scream, cry and be frustrated.
