Russia to commission 20 GW of renewable capacity by 2035 — Novak The total installed capacity of renewable energy sources in Russia amounts to 6 GW at present About 20 GW of renewable energy sources’ capacity is planned for commissioning in Russia by 2035, according to the presentation to the report by Deputy Prime Alexander Novak at the Russia Expo international forum. "We set the task for ourselves for the period by 2035 to achieve the level of 20,000 MW, increase the share in our energy balance, and make it cleaner," Novak said. The total installed capacity of renewable energy sources in Russia amounts to 6 GW at present, including 2.2 GW of the total capacity of seventy solar power plants and 2.5 GW of the total capacity of twenty-six wind farms. #business #finance #financialservices

As such, Kenya was one of the top 5 economies in Africa that accounted for 40.0% of projects in the region, ranked ahead of Nigeria and Zambia. Kenya remains advantaged against other African countries with over 80.0% of Kenya’s electricity generation coming from low-carbon sources of geothermal, hydro, wind, and solar power, with over half of it coming from the geothermal sector.

Taking a pulse on the progress of Renewable Energy globally. The trend is positive with still a lot of work ahead. Most of the Investments are in the Global North. How does the Global South attract Investors with its obvious challenges? In Cameroon, there has been an increase mostly in Hydro and Solar ( 99.1% Hydro and 0.9% Solar PV).
