The first in a series in which I grow increasingly aware of my mortality as we interview our current crop of interns.
It's a staple of every summer at LJC to welcome a new intern class to our offices! 👏 Working with students is always a ton of fun, and this year, we decided to put the class of 2024 to the test with some LJC trivia. Check out the first installment of our intern pop quiz as they tackle the trivia question: What year was LJC founded? 🤔 Here's a hint: while our firm was founded in 1999, it was incorporated with LJC in 2019. Check out their answers and let us know yours in the comments below! ⬇️

THAT SAID THEN IS ANY GOVERNMENT TO BE BLAMED FOR THE HOMELESS PROBLEMS PLAGUING THE WORLD.?... NO. GOD KNOWS ALL THE HEADACHES USA GOVERNMENT HAVE WITH THE FOREIGN AFFAIRS. THE NEW WORLD IS PRACTICALLY A SHOCK TO WITNESS. PEOPLE "ONLY WORKING" TOGETHER FOR A COMMON GOAL... "IN THE PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS." THUS DOESN'T THAT ALSO INCLUDE THE HOMELESS. THE HOMELESS ARE OUT THERE... ARE YOU.? HOMELESS A OPPORTUNITY MISUNDERSTOOD..... The modern economic system is a market economy, which is a capitalist economy where people, not the government--NOT THE GOVERNMENT--own most businesses. In a capitalist economy, prices allocate capital and labor between competing uses, and capital assets like factories, mines, and railroads can be privately owned and controlled. https://lnkd.in/eB98Jnv9 GOOGLE. EXAMPLE, IF YOU NEED TO RAISE MONEY FOR ANY REASON OR MORE SO LETS SAY THE "HOMELESS" PROBLEM WHICH IS BELIEVED TO BE TIME & MONEY CONSUMING BUT IN ONE DIRECTION TOWARD THE HOMELESS. HOWEVER CRYPTOCURRENCY CAN POSSIBLE ALLOWS AN EXPENDITURE OF CURRENCY TO BENEFIT ALL WHO USES THE CRYPTO & REGARDLESS OF HOW IT'S CONSUMED. We hosted a scavenger hunt through Grand Central for our summer interns, who worked together in this game of strategy and communication to solve clues in the passages, concourses, tracks and trains.

I should add that these are PAID internships. Not only does this make our internships accessible to those who can’t afford to work for free, there is a noticeable difference in the quality and consistency of their work over the span of the semester. It is a lot easier to give more to an organization when they are compensating you for your time. At the very least, I believe we need to be paying interns enough to cover the indirect expenses that come with a job (gas, meals, clothing, etc.).

Q: Describe your initial perspective of the career you are interning at. After being an intern there for a few weeks, how have your beliefs changed, and what are they currently? A: When I first started my internship doing math intervention at the elementary school I wondered how effective that classroom situation really was and if it would actually help the students catch up to where they were supposed to be. I didn’t really understand how it worked and how to best help the kids understand. Now that Ive been at the elementary school for awhile I’ve been able to see how effective intervention is. I’ve seen the kids we work with grow so much and watching them start to really understanding something is one of my big highlights. Giving the kids a space where they can catch up outside the pressure of a classroom that might make them feel like they’re constantly falling behind us super important and really beneficial.
