🎉Happy Birthday, Meatball! NASA’s Iconic Logo Turns 65 on Monday, July 15! 🚀 Celebrating a symbol that's shaped the spirit of space exploration for six and a half decades. The round blue, white, and red logo, lovingly dubbed “the meatball,” was crafted by James Modarelli at NASA’s Lewis Research Center (now NASA Glenn Research Center) in Cleveland. Initially designed in 1959, it swiftly became the emblem of America’s pioneering space agency - NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration. The symbolism behind its design is as profound as it is iconic: 👉The blue sphere symbolizes our planet 👉The stars represent space 👉The red chevron embodies aeronautics and 👉The white ellipse signifies orbiting spacecraft. To honor this milestone and highlight NASA Glenn’s pivotal role in its creation, NASA Glenn will host a special free admission day at the Great Lakes Science Center in Cleveland, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET on July 15. Let’s celebrate the enduring legacy of innovation and exploration that the “meatball” continues to inspire. 🌍🚀🌌 #SpaceToday #NASA #NASAlogo #IconicLogo #NASA65 #GreatLakesScienceCenter #NASAHistory #SpaceExploration #SpaceMission #SpaceDiscovery #SpaceScience

Reaching for new heights and revealing the unknown for the benefit of humankind This has been the mission statement of NASA for the last decade. And their accomplishments speak volumes. They've launched spacecraft venturing into interstellar space, deployed telescopes peering into the universe's beginnings, and placed satellites that meticulously monitor Earth's pulse. Through these endeavors, they have inspired generations worldwide. Crucially, At the heart of their mission is a clear and noble purpose: to benefit humankind. At Ilika, we are honored to contribute to this mission. Our Hawamaan app leverages data from NASA's weather satellites to refine weather predictions, directly addressing the unpredictability of monsoons rains and resulting farmer suicides in South Asia. It's a moment of immense pride for us to be acknowledged in NASA's Spinoff 2024 magazine. This recognition from an organization we have long admired is not just an honor; it represents a significant milestone in our journey. Proud to be working with NASA's data, and proud to be the member of team ilika. We invite you to learn more about our work and its recognition in NASA's Spinoff 2024 magazine. NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration's Perseverance unviels a 360° Mars view at Jezero Crater. On December 12, 2023, NASA's Perseverance rover achieved a significant milestone, completing 1,000 Martian days, or sols, on Mars. To commemorate this achievement, NASA unveiled a 360-degree mosaic of the rover's current location and a video walkthrough narrated by Perseverance project scientist Ken Farley. The mosaic, comprised of 993 individual images captured by Perseverance's Mastcam-Z instrument on November 3rd, 4th, and 6th of the previous year, boasts an impressive 2.38 billion pixels. Notably, there's a color variation between the image in this article and the video. The image reflects Mars' natural colors, while adjustments in the video create Earth-like lighting, aiding mission scientists in interpreting the landscape. #nasa #perseverance #mars #spacetechnology #spaceresearch #spaceexploration

Hi #linkedincommunity In this #era, everyday we are recording multiple milestones in the Space Research Technology and getting knowledge of different elements and things in the Space 🛰. NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration is on the mission to reach Mars 👨🚀 and give us different insights 📔about the Mars and its Surface. This Mars Mission is for the collecting the samples of Mars surface and bringing back that samples to Earth 🌍 for analysis . I proudly 👏 like to share that I also noted my name to send on Mars Surface and place my name there on the surface with this Mission. NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration gave the name to this mission as "FUTURE MARS MISSION" 📄 which going to take place in 2030. Here is my boarding pass for the Mission and hopefully the launch happens soon and successful. Waiting for my name to be imprint on the surface of the Mars in 2030 🌟. #linkedin #linkdinfamily #digitalera #launch #space #spaceexploration #spacetech #milestone #research #technology #knowledge #nasa #mars #marsmission #surface #samples #analysis #earth #futuremarsmission #mission #insights #spacex #isromissions

On this day, 58 years ago, NASA launched Gemini VII. With this mission, NASA successfully completed its first rendezvous of two spacecraft. The Gemini program was designed as a bridge between the Mercury and Apollo programs, primarily to test equipment and mission procedures in Earth orbit and to train astronauts and ground crews for future Apollo missions to the Moon. This photograph, taken by Gemini VII crewmembers Jim Lovell and Frank Borman, shows Gemini VI in orbit 160 miles (257 km) above Earth. Want more exclusive content?
