The question for America today is a sobering one - are we willing to sacrifice and be the change for a greater nation? Our mission should be to truly live out the ideals of the founding fathers that ALL men are created equal. We must not be rooted in bravado, xenophobia, unjust traditions, and political stump speeches. It's easy to forget the ideals and sacrifices which made America divinely great, but we must not let history repeat itself. Many great empires have fallen due to rot from within. Let us not be one of them. As we celebrate this great nation, let us remember the sacrifices made by those who came before us and strive to be the change we wish to see. Let us continue to work towards a greater, more equal nation.

On this day in .... 946 – Emperor Suzaku abdicates the throne in favor of his brother Murakami who becomes the 62nd emperor of Japan. 1204 – Baldwin IX, Count of Flanders is crowned as the first Emperor of the Latin Empire. 1364 – Hundred Years' War: Bertrand du Guesclin and a French army defeat the Anglo-Navarrese army of Charles the Bad at Cocherel. 1426 – Gov. Thado of Mohnyin becomes king of Ava. 1527 – The Florentines drive out the Medici for a second time and Florence re-establishes itself as a republic. 1532 – Sir Thomas More resigns as Lord Chancellor of England. 1568 – Mary, Queen of Scots, flees to England. 1584 – Santiago de Vera becomes sixth Governor-General of the Spanish colony of the Philippines. ------------------------------------- Which of these events between 946 CE and 1584 CE has most effected your life? Maybe you say that none of them have. If you sat that, I would like to enroll you in a Philosophy of History class. Maybe you pick one. Why? Maybe you say they are all equal. Again, why? Maybe you are with me and say, "I do not know." After all, it is one day. There were thousands of important events and choices leading up to these and thousands subsequent to them that effected their effect. History is a hoot. Interpreting history is hootier still.

It’s patriotism when love of your own people comes first; it’s nationalism when hate for people other than your own comes first. That definition comes from Charles de Gaulle, a former national hero and president of France. It’s worth keeping in mind as we enter an election year in the US, the most consequential country of many where these two deceptively similar and yet utterly contrary forces will clash. De Gaulle was onto something subtle but big. Patriotism, when you observe that warm feeling welling up inside of you, is fundamentally positive. By contrast, nationalism, whenever you perceive that emotion in you (and we all do on occasion), is negative and potentially jingoistic. Political scientists describe this distinction as “inclusive” patriotism versus “exclusive” nationalism. In biblical terms, the Book of Ruth (in which the Israelites embrace a Moabite woman as one of their own) is patriotic; other parts, such as Deuteronomy 25:17–19 (in which the Lord tells the Israelites to blot out the memory of Amalek from under heaven), are nationalistic. Nationalism, unlike patriotism, needs an Other as a target of its primary energy source, which isn’t pride but resentment. That Other can be foreign or domestic. In the past as today, the role has often fallen to outside foes but also, say, to immigrants, Jews or political enemies at home. So it’s not patriotic but nationalistic to extol a “real America,” with the implication of an unworthy and “unreal” alternative. And it’s vile to claim — as Donald Trump, a self-declared nationalist who’s running for a second term as president, recently did — that illegal immigrants are “poisoning the blood of our country.” George Orwell concluded ... NON-CHRISTIANS and GLOBALISTS LEAD AMERICA/UK? "Nikki" Haley was born Nimarata Randhawa at Bamberg, S. Carolina to migrant parents who profess the Sikh religion, they are non-Christians. Easiest way for military corps to find cheap colonists is to elect people who have little idea about Christian teachings. Biden, Trump, Obama, Bush, they all really did not profess Christian principles nor do Boris Johnson and Sunak in UK. To find a Christian President of US we have to go back to Jimmy Carter for certain. That was a man who tried his best to imitate Christ, specially later in his life. Myself I am not a traditional Christian in the traditional sense but rather want-to-be Christian with my own read only on certain principles. But leading an advanced civilization like America/UK requires a core Christian leader. If America/UK want to be seen as equal partners to orthodox Christians in Eastern Europe and EurAsia they cannot pitch imperialists and globalists.

The Declaration of Independence forms the foundation for US ideals and the American Dream. Jefferson wrote in the Declaration about “life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness” as rights given to everyone. He wrote that England’s failure to respect those rights gave the colonists justification to separate themselves from their tyrannical king and form a new nation. These ideas helped to define the American Dream, and even today many view the American Dream as freedom and the pursuit of happiness. The American Dream—We’re all chasing it, right? But is this dream the same for everyone? And does everyone have the same opportunity to achieve it? In THE ISSUE Volume 1.7, we explore whether the American Dream is real or fantasy. Goodness, Honor, Trust, Respect ... Values & Purpose Lest we forget ... on the 80th anniversary of D-Day the world comes together to remember the huge sacrifices made by all those who fought for our freedom - and to ensure future generations could flourish. King Charles III, at the end of his speech today, made these poignant remarks: "Among the names inscribed on the walls and pillars of this memorial are men and women from more than 30 different nations and many faiths. United, they fought together for what my grandfather, King George VI, described as ‘a world in which goodness and honour may be the foundation of the life of men in every land’. As we stand alongside their remaining friends and comrades on this hallowed ground, let us affirm that we will strive to live by their example, let us pray such sacrifice need never be made again and let us commit to carrying forward their resounding message of courage and resilience in the pursuit of freedom, tempered by the duty of responsibilities to others for the benefits of younger generations and those yet unborn.
