It’s International Day of Charity! 🤝💙🌍 Today reminds us of the important role charity and community play in our studio and industry. Each year, we dedicate time and resources to support charities at no cost. So far, we’ve donated unused product samples to The Sample Project and raised money for the Architects Benevolent Society and WWF through charity runs—but we want to do more. If you know of any charities or community groups in need of pro bono design help or volunteers, please reach out—we’d love to lend a hand.

Director of Really Good Things. The communications consultancy for social impact. Non-profits, responsible businesses, and innovation-driven brands.
Really interesting read about the wider impact and SROI of charity shops. 29% of the £75.3 billion in social value generated by charity shops is linked to a sense of community, and being met with friendliness and the compassion people report when visiting a charity shop. I like this very much. Key take out: every £1 spent operating charity shops generates an additional £7.35 in social value. #SROI #charity #ReallyGoodThings

I have pledged to donate a percentage of my income to highly effective charities. 🌍 💡 Until four years ago, when I thought of donating to charity, I imagined collection boxes, street sellers, uncertainty about the impact of my money, and elderly people. However, my work at Doneer Effectief taught me that there is so much more to charitable giving. If we carefully consider where we donate and choose effective charities, giving can be evidence-driven, highly impactful—up to 100 times more than the average charity—intentional, and incredibly rewarding. I now see donating as one of my ways of contributing to a world with less suffering and more happiness. Because of this, I have decided to take the trial pledge via Giving What We Can: from now on, I will donate a set percentage of my income to highly effective charities. Many religions have long practiced such ‘pledges’ to charity as a way to give back. Through my pledge, I know that I am making a meaningful positive impact on the people and animals that benefit from my donations every month. 🐾👫 Have you ever considered donating to effective charities? Because, especially for such charities, even small donations can make a large difference. Check this video https://lnkd.in/eQFjAHnt or GivingWhatWeCan https://lnkd.in/euzzjY6s to learn more

Most of us have a desire to give back, to support a good cause or causes that are doing good in the world. And, one avenue of philanthropy that might not immediately come to mind or be thought of is donating a vehicle to charity. Donating vehicle to a charity we think is worthwhile may seem like a small gesture compared to other forms of giving, but its not. The reality is that donating a car, truck, van or other type of vehicle can have a significant impact. Not only on the charity receiving the donation but also on the donor themselves. Learn more about the benefits of donating a vehicle to charity by clicking the link below.

Hello everyone!! 👋 Today is the final day of our charity for me&dee charity. One month after the London marathon. We have raised £4478 and got 89% of our target. 💪 In one last ditch attempt to reach our goal I wanted to post a picture of Baasit and I when we were kids, hoping that this shameless act of sentimentality would encourage a few final donations. 🙏 However, this is the only old photo I could find of us both. And no, it wasn’t taken from the Derbyshire Constabulary database. As much as I hope this picture has the desired outcome, I feel that it may result in us having to return some of the donations. 😃 Anyways…. From the bottom of our hearts, a massive thank you to everyone who donated, to everyone who shared the donation page and to everyone who sent us a message of encouragement. 🥰 We love you lots. Baasit & Raza ❤️❤️❤️ (the link will be live a for a few more days if you’d care to share or donate) https://lnkd.in/dp3khxBK

Charity or Philanthropy? How do you all feel about charity and philanthropy in today's society? I want to know which is more effective for communities that are in need. Charity and philanthropy are both ways to help people in need, but they are uniquely different in their focus and goals: Charity focuses on providing immediate assistance to people or communities in need. Philanthropy focuses on addressing the root causes of social problems and creating long-term sustainable solutions. Comment 💬 For Charity Heart ❤️ For Philanthropy

Let us know what you think! Select '...more' for the answer 👇 The answer is 'C' meaning that a whopping £3.9bn is donated through gifts in Wills every year! We know that now is the time to invest in legacy fundraising - with the largest transfer of wealth happening for a generation over the next 20-30 years. We also know that 20% of estates are now charitable with more and more new charities being included every year, meaning a whopping £3.9bn is donated through gifts in Wills yearly*. That means every charity has to work harder and smarter, to ensure they’re not forgotten about. If your charity needs some immediate support with your legacy programme, or you would like to have a chat with Jordan Miller-Hughes MCIOF (Cert) to see how you could do things differently, please reach out to him - jordan@leadsnavigator.co.uk *Reported by Smee&Fords Legacy Giving Trends Report 2024 #legacy #charity #fundraising #gifts #wills #quiz

With Budget 2024 announced, it's becoming evident that many people would rather forgo their tax reduction in favour of the Government handing it to other needs. Others might be differently placed. Without venturing into the pros & cons involved in choosing somethingdifferent, I'm hoping those driven towards pointing at what the government should do, opt for doing something more practical instead. The following platforms make it reasonably easy for NZers to contribute small amounts to causes they care about, ensuring their donations make a meaningful impact. Givealittle is New Zealand's free online fundraising platform for causes and charities. https://givealittle.co.nz/ The Good Registry allows you to donate to multiple charities through one platform. https://lnkd.in/gm-sRmm2 One Percent Collective encourages people to donate 1% of their income to charity. https://lnkd.in/gF_TyhpV

Day 21: Declutter and Donate Unused Materials We're diving deep into the transformative power of decluttering and donating. Decluttering isn't just about tidying up - it's a journey towards clarity, simplicity, and mindful living. What's the way forward? ✓ Set aside time to declutter your home, focusing on areas where excess clutter tends to accumulate, such as closets, drawers, and storage spaces. ✓ Sort and organize donated items into separate categories, ensuring they are clean, sorted, and ready for donation. ✓Gather items that are in good condition but no longer serve you, and donate them to households, local charities, or community organizations that can put them to good use. When was the last time you decluttered? #eco30impact #sustainablelifestyle #day21

Are you a charity or local community project that would like support from a local business? HBC is a local courier business to Biggleswade. We are passionate about supporting local charities and reducing our carbon footprint. We have been initiated with local businesses and charities approaching us and want to do as much as we can to help. Therefore, every month we will be selecting a charity at random to support for four weeks. Do you need a volunteer? Do you need help with a donation drive? Do you need a food donation pledge? Do you need us to promote an event? Do you need something transported? We will try our best within that month to help your cause. Sadly we won’t be able to raise hundreds of pounds for everyone but there may be other ways we can help. What to do: If interested, please send an email to charity@hbclogistics.co.uk with what support / needs your charity or project has. #charity #fundraising
