Exciting news! Spect and DocGo have joined forces in a new partnership to provide preventive diabetic retinopathy screenings in the homes of patients. “Annual diabetic eye exams are extremely important for people living with diabetes to ensure necessary treatment is received to protect their vision. Unfortunately, this exam is often skipped or delayed. It’s also one of the hardest HEDIS quality measures for health plans to close. By integrating Spect’s scalable and portable technology into DocGo’s technology and services, we can increase the number of eligible members screened, and help improve patient care and health plan quality ratings,” said Dr. James Powell, CEO of DocGo’s Clinical Practice Group. We're excited about the opportunities ahead as we combine our efforts to increase access to eye care for all patients. Surgical wounds may also need advanced care if healing is impaired by factors like infection, medical conditions (e.g., diabetes), advanced age, or a weakened immune system. Treatments may include wound irrigation, debridement, negative pressure wound therapy, and skin or tissue grafting. TIME TO PUT THE “MOUTH BACK INTO THE BODY” 🚨🦷🧑🔬 With funding from Haleon, researchers at the University of Birmingham have developed a care pathway that could enable dental teams to screen for undiagnosed diabetes during routine visits. With over 850,000 people in the UK alone, potentially living with undiagnosed diabetes, this initiative could be a game-changer. This research could also open doors to uncovering the links between oral health and other systemic diseases—putting the “mouth back into the body” is, in my view, a significant part of the future of integrated healthcare. #HealthInnovation #DiabetesAwareness #OralHealth #SystemicHealth #PreventiveCare #DentalResearch #Haleon

“The Power of Preventive Medicine” This platform is filled with incredible individuals, and I’m grateful for the inspiration. Today, I want to highlight the life-changing impact of screening and preventive medicine. Here are some essential screenings that I come across in practice: 1️⃣ Mammograms: Start at age 40. 2️⃣ Colonoscopy: Start at age 45. 3️⃣ Blood Pressure Checks: From age 18. 4️⃣ Lipid Profile: From age 20. 5️⃣ Diabetes Screening (HbA1c): From age 35 or earlier with risks. 6️⃣ Pap Smear/HPV Testing: From age 21. 7️⃣ Bone Density Testing (DEXA): Age 65 or earlier if needed. Preventive care saves lives and empowers communities with better health. Let’s continue to educate and inspire action! 🌟 What’s your take on the importance of early detection? #PreventiveMedicine #ScreeningTests #HealthcareMatters #PublicHealth #PrimaryCare #InternalMedicine #PatientCare #HealthcareHeroes #MedicalCommunity #HealthyLiving #Wellness #LifeChangingCare #MedicalEducation #Colonoscopy #Mammogram #BloodPressure #DiabetesPrevention #CervicalCancerPrevention #BoneHealth #EarlyDetection #HealthPromotion #HealthcareProfessionals #PatientEducation #ResidencyMatch2025 #FutureDoctors #ResidencyJourney #IMGJourney #Match2025 #MedLife #USMLE #MedicalJourney #DoctorLife #ResidencyGoals #MedicineMatters #IMGCommunity #FuturePhysicians #WellnessMatters #IMResidency #ManifestingResidency #Timga #ProjectIMG

🔍 A PPH event can expose several critical quality concerns: Access: Was the patient able to receive timely prenatal care to manage risk factors, such as peripartum anemia? Did they deliver in a non-hospital setting due to limited access to hospital care, leading to delayed management? Structure: Is the hospital equipped to handle hemorrhages with standardized hemorrhage carts and immediate access to uterotonics? Are hospital teams trained through simulations and protocols to effectively respond to PPH? Process: How is blood loss measured and communicated among the team during acute hemorrhage? At Ceumed, we understand these challenges and offer the Barbyl PPH Prevention Device—a mechanical solution that mimics natural compression, fitting seamlessly into existing systems to enhance patient care. www.ceumed.com 🔗 Learn more about how Barbyl can make a difference. #PPH #PatientSafety #MaternalHealth #Ceumed #ObGyn #HealthcareInnovation

This is really interesting and one I think we do try and facilitate through advice and education in MECC. Health coaching is becoming an extremely key role in our profession but how much training do we get on doing this effectively and the question of time and resources will always come into play. An insightful read on how we can do our bit as best as we can.
The Role of Physiotherapists in Prevention: A Crucial Endeavour In our ever-evolving healthcare landscape, it is clear that we must focus on prevention, & physiotherapists are uniquely positioned to lead this charge Enjoyed writing this with Ruth ten Hove #Physiotherapy #Prevention https://lnkd.in/eKWqBzUC

A few years ago, I had the honor of giving a talk on how providers can better understand and manage patients with chronic and severe #AbdominalPain. These conditions can be complicated and impact a patient in a variety of ways from their physical health to their emotional well-being. I think there are still a lot of great takeaways from this presentation; check it out below and feel free to share your thoughts in the comments. #DGBI #Communication #PatientExperience

Diabetic retinopathy rates are increasing most rapidly in younger people and in Black and Hispanic populations, according to a recent study led by the Cleveland Clinic in Florida. This article in Inside Precision Medicine provides some eye-opening insights: https://lnkd.in/eVVpCQaH The message is clear: We need to increase access to care, especially for minority populations, so that they can get early diagnosis and treatment in order to improve patient outcomes. #DiabeticRetinopathy #Healthcare #PatientOutcomes
