In April 2021 the government set a goal to cut emissions by 𝟕𝟖% 𝐛𝐲 𝟐𝟎𝟑𝟓 compared to 1990 levels.    Carbon tracking apps are making this goal more achievable. A report by Tink shows that almost a quarter (𝟮𝟯%) of young adults from 18 to 34 use a carbon tracking app to measure their environmental impact, and this is increasing. 🌱 My Journey with DEWA Smart Living Programme I'm delighted to share my personal experience with DEWA App's Home Benchmarking feature, an effective tool that usually goes unnoticed in our daily lives but is critical for our planet 🌍. 🔍 Why Energy Benchmarking Matters? Energy benchmarking involves comparing the energy consumption of a building to that of comparable or previous structures. Similar to a personal fitness tracker, it offers valuable insights regarding areas of improvement. This transforms the position for both homeowners and businesses. It results in: 1. Through identification and rectification of high-energy-use areas it helps reducing environmental impact. 2. Reduced utility expenses are an immediate benefit of improved energy efficiency. 3. By utilising tangible data, we can optimise our energy consumption choices. 🏠 My Home's Energy Transition Proudly, I've been effectively using DEWA Smart App benefiting from it at home. The results are astounding! 🌟 My home currently uses 30% less power and 57% less water than similar houses in our community. How did I accomplish this? - Smart Technology: Upgrading to LED lights and installing energy-efficient equipment. - Behavioural Changes: Practicing things like limiting air conditioning use, scheduling for AC, and turning off lights when they are not in use are all examples of simple habits. - Regular Audits: Monitoring energy consumption and making modifications as required. This journey is not solely about saving money, but also about making a difference in the world around us. Each small step counts! DEWA provides customers with excellent features such as, - "Away Mode," which tracks power and water consumption and alerts for unusual usage when away from home. - Receive notifications for high water usage. - Understand your bills. - Use Dubai Electricity & Water Authority - DEWA's new Consumption Assessment Tool to investigate your electricity and water consumption and make smart decisions based on personalized saving suggestions. 🤝 Join the Movement I urge those in the community to consider participating in the My Sustainable Living Programme for your homes and businesses.
