May Is National STOP THE BLEED® Month Knowing how to control bleeding from a serious injury is important for everyone. The American College of Surgeons STOP THE BLEED program arms people with the knowledge and technical abilities to truly make a difference in a person’s life if a bleeding emergency occurs. I think that realization is a profoundly positive and empowering experience for everyone who takes the course. — Kenji Inaba, MD, FACS Chair of the STOP THE BLEED® Committee of the ACS Committee on Trauma If we lose too much blood and it is not controlled, someone can die within minutes from a severe bleeding injury. The steps taught in a STOP THE BLEED® course can help keep a person from losing vital blood, which is necessary to perfuse all the organs and cells in our bodies. — George W. One of many specialties whose Pts. are receiving SoftWave's treatment benefits...
Join us and learn all about SoftWave's technology at the FPMA Summer Conference in Bonita Springs, FL this weekend! Visit us at table #40 for live demos and to discover how this cutting-edge technology is revolutionizing the world of podiatry. 🌎👣 A recent study using the OrthoGold 100 shockwave device showed promising results in reducing pain and improving function for patients with Plantar Fasciitis. Patients were treated weekly for 3 weeks and the ESWT with the OrthoGold 100 device was well tolerated and led to functional improvement for patients who have not responded to conservative therapies. Stay tuned for more innovative podiatry care updates from the conference! Master Performance Coach, Neuro Reconditioning Co-Founder, Human Performance Consultant, Host of Leave Your Mark, son of Lois, husband to Jaime, dad to Gretchen
Stop treating and training the outcome and start asking why the problem is there in the first place. Diagnosis is great for doctors and surgeons who need to know what to prescribe or how to intervene. For therapists and performance professionals, it's really like the car analogy I use in this video. If you bring your car to the garage because the steering wheel is vibrating (in your body this might be pain or performance drop-off), you don't just change the tire when the mechanic says it's the cause of the speed wobble (the diagnosis). You ask why the tire is wearing unevenly, and that might be due to a myriad of reasons. In the human body, you establish a hypothesis, and you use an inductive and holistic process to identify the drivers of the problem. And 9 times out of 10 that driver is going to have a neurological association. Why? Because the human machine is run by the neurological system, it's the almighty boss. Want to know how to assess and address the neurological and mechanical drivers? Catch a Neuro Reconditioning course in 2024! Our mission at Reconditioninghq.com is to empower movement professionals to navigate the grey area between rehabilitation and performance confidently. We want you to succeed! Ahhh, quad activation!!! So important to get that going in the early post op stages. Despite having very good extension, some patients still really struggle regaining that neuromuscular connectivity. Using NMES paired with Blood Flow Reatriction can give the quad a jump start. It’s not fun for the patient and can be cumbersome to set up, but the responsiveness has helped us close that gap. Short 10 min dose with solid efforts by the patient on each rep is required. This is not a set it and forget it activity- stay engaged!!! #aclreconstruction #mpfl #physicaltherapy #expectmore #teamdavispt Davis Physical Therapy & Sports Rehab
