💦 Ice cubes, splashes, pink suits, and one incredible cause... We could only be talking about the ALS Association's CEO Soak Challenge, where the one and only Melanie Fellay 🐙 traded spreadsheets for soaks and boardrooms for buckets—all to support the mission to find a cure for ALS. “It’s really special to work with mission-driven organizations and play a part in their success. We’re grateful Mel could participate in the ALS Association’s big event to show our ongoing support by whatever means necessary,” - Josh Rubin, Customer Success Manager at Spekit. This event holds special meaning for us—not just as partners but as advocates for the remarkable work The ALS Association does every day in the fight for a cure and in supporting those affected by ALS. A heartfelt thank you to Samantha Luke and everyone who has joined us and the ALS Association to impact the lives of those affected by this terrible disease. If you'd like to join the fight, you can find all the ways to give, volunteer, local events, and more here -> https://lnkd.in/debRyup 💪

Are you working on your fall or end-of-year appeal letter? Is it written to one person, rather than many? Example from a hospital foundation: "With your gift today you will help patients suffering from the debilitating effects of heart disease." With just one basic change I guarantee you'll raise more, maybe lots more: "With your gift today you will help a patient with heart disease." Why is this the case? When you ask a donor to help one person, it's much easier for that donor to decide to give than when he or she is asked to help a larger (and unknown) group of people. And it's much more believable too. If I'm a $200 donor to an organization that helps kids, do I really believe that my gift is going to help "all the kids we care for"? If you're working on an appeal right now, convince your donor to help one individual before asking them to have an interest in helping more than one. If you'd like help with your appeal writing, contact me at ron@rescignos.com.

“When you start out in advertising you learn everything about the product. You read the manual, you go to the factory, you experience the items. Here we do the same thing with people. Everything we do at GOOD is about telling the truth. We have a lot of conversations with people. Whether it’s motor neurone disease, or people experiencing homelessness for Crisis, or any other kind of charity that we work with – we listen.” Bryn Attewell, GOOD's Executive Creative Director, chats to Marketing Beat about our latest work with Motor Neurone Disease (MND) Association, the process of creating the campaign and the importance of authentic storytelling. 📰 Read the full feature here: https://lnkd.in/escwKWeb

Yes, you sure can! ✅ However, it’s worth remembering that most gifts in Wills aren’t realised for many years. If you include a gift for our general purposes, it means we can fund the most significant project at the time, to make the greatest impact in our fight to help save Australians from heart disease 🙌 If you have a specific purpose in mind, we recommend discussing this with us before finalising your Will, to ensure that your wishes can be carried out ❤️ Interested in leaving a gift in Will to the Heart Foundation? Though there may not be a cure, there is hope! In May, we recognize ALS Awareness Month. ALS is a progressive disease in which a person’s brain loses connection with the muscles, slowly taking away their ability to walk, talk, eat, and eventually breathe. Week 2 accomplished! Engaging in walks with teammates, friends, and family has made achieving 15,000 steps a day enjoyable and something I hope to continue after this challenge (not the 15,000 steps, the walks)! With MND, speech and communication can be affected in various ways. Weakness in the tongue, lips, vocal cords and chest can make speech faint, slurred or unclear. Gesture and facial expressions can also change. This makes conversations more difficult as symptoms progress, but there are techniques and communication aids to help. I take pride in the impact of our efforts at Liberator Ltd assisting individuals with MND whose speech is affected. I kindly ask for your support by liking, sharing, and contributing to Team Liberators' Just Giving page. Your involvement raises awareness and crucial funds for the Motor Neurone Disease (MND) Association in their fight against this devastating disease. I’ll post the link to the Just Giving page in the comments. Watch out for another update next week! 🙏

Motor Neuron Diseases are a group of neuro degenerative conditions that affect the voluntary control of muscle movement. However early symptoms can include: - weakness in your ankles or legs e.g. you might trip, or find it harder to climb stairs - slurred speech, which may develop into difficulty swallowing some foods - weakening of grip e.g. you might drop things, or find it hard to open jars or do up buttons - muscle cramps and twitches - weight loss e.g. your arms or leg muscles may have become thinner over time - difficulty controlling emotions e.g. crying or laughing inappropriately MND is uncommon, and while it can affect anyone, it is more common after the age of 60 years. However if you display any of the concerning symptoms above, then please consult with a doctor. CAS Medical has access to private neurologists across central Scotland, who specialise in MND. If you wish to arrange a consultation, then please email info@casmedical.org #casmedical #MND #motorneurondisease #privateGP #earlydetection
We’re deeply saddened to learn of the death of our patron Rob Burrow CBE. Rob lived with motor neurone disease in the public eye after choosing to announce his diagnosis in 2019. We will be forever grateful to Rob. Sharing his journey with this disease inspired so many people both within the MND community and the wider public. Our thoughts today are with Rob’s wife Lindsey, children Macy, Maya and Jackson, family, friends and the rugby league community.

We are campaigning for change and we want to hear from you about what issues you want us to address first. Living by our motto 'inspired by our community' your input into the work we do is so important. We are looking at our next campaigning priorities and we want the input of the community to develop this. We want to get your view on the important issues that we should be campaigning on. This will help our work to influence decision-makers, including the government, to try and improve care and support for people affected by Huntington’s disease. 🔗 https://loom.ly/PAwN_MU
