Empowering Cybersecurity Success: Founder @ Execweb | Pioneering the Premier Platform for Tailored Sales Connections Between Top-tier Cybersecurity Vendors & Fortune 1000 CISOs | 3x Founder | Formerly @ Credit Suisse
As a seasoned professional in the cybersecurity realm, I've come to recognize the paramount importance of fostering symbiotic relationships between vendors and security practitioners. In an industry where the stakes are high and threats are ever-evolving, the synergy between these two entities is not just desirable but imperative. While cybersecurity vendors exert tremendous effort in reaching out to Chief Information Security Officers (CISOs), the reciprocal journey for CISOs to identify trustworthy vendors is fraught with challenges. The inundation of sales pitches, incessant emails, and relentless social media messages often inundate CISOs, leading to frustration and a tendency to block these communications indiscriminately. Regrettably, this indiscriminate blocking often ensnares genuinely innovative vendors offering solutions that could significantly benefit CISOs' security postures. This prevalent communication gap has inadvertently erected barriers between CISOs and vendors, hindering the exploration of potentially transformative solutions. It's high time we address this chasm by cultivating avenues that facilitate genuine connections and meaningful engagements between these vital stakeholders. Enterprises such as Execweb are pioneering this paradigm shift by providing curated platforms where vendors and CISOs can converge, interact authentically, and forge trust-based relationships. By fostering an environment conducive to transparent dialogue and mutual understanding, these platforms bridge the gap, enabling both parties to navigate the complex cybersecurity landscape with confidence and clarity. In essence, the future of cybersecurity hinges on collaborative partnerships forged on trust, transparency, and shared objectives. Let's embrace this ethos and embark on a journey of collective empowerment, where vendors and CISOs alike can thrive in tandem, safeguarding our digital ecosystems with resilience and resolve. Join the movement towards a more connected and fortified cyber landscape – together, we're stronger. #Cybersecurity #VendorRelations #Partnerships #Execweb #CyberCommunity Picture by Charles Forerunner

As 2024 begins to wind down, organisational leaders continue to face many challenges, from sustaining growth to navigating emerging technologies, talent and geopolitics. The role of the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) is evolving, and they are increasingly being seen as proactive partners in managing ongoing business needs rather than just being called upon to rescue the organisation during times of crisis. The #KPMG annual #Cybersecurity considerations report identified eight key considerations that #CISOs should prioritise in #2024 to help mitigate risk, drive business growth and build resilience. Here’s a quick reminder of the eight key cyber considerations for CISOs as they seek to accelerate recovery times, reduce the impact of incidents on employees, customers, and partners and aim to ensure their security plans enable — rather than expose — the business. https://lnkd.in/g8TeijrE

41% of organizations that suffered a major cyber breach last year say it was caused by a third party in their ecosystem. Yet over half of firms lack visibility into vulnerabilities among vendors and partners. The World Economic Forum states that for building a better cyber ecosystem, collaboration among organizations, suppliers, insurers, and regulatory bodies is an essential factor. It's clear that no single entity can stand alone against the tide of cyber threats. The solution lies in bridging divides - between industries, public and private sectors, and companies of all sizes. But technology is only one piece of the puzzle. We need deeper partnerships where cyber leaders openly share threats, best practices, and insights. 29% of cyber leaders are optimistic that industry and ecosystem collaboration will significantly improve in the next two years. Shared efforts, including knowledge, resources, and strategies, not only enhance individual defenses but also strengthen global security resilience, facilitating a more secure digital future. At iValue, we embody this principle by actively engaging in strategic partnerships that aim to enable advanced security solutions for our clients. It's through these collective efforts that we can hope to stay one step ahead of cyber threats. Do you think collaborations will help us shape a secure future of global security? #iValueGroup #CyberSecurityCollaboration #GlobalSecurityAlliance #CyberEcosystemUnity #SecureDigitalFuture #SecurityResilience #CyberThreatAlliance

This week, as part of this quarter's local #CYBER Breakfast, I had the privilege of moderating a panel of professionals running non-technical departments within organisations operating in the #financial, #gaming and #public sectors. It was refreshing to see the recognition that #cybersecurity is getting from individuals operating outside of the #infosec function. The event provided a much-needed platform for #security professionals to interact with #business #executives not directly involved in the day-to-day security function of an organisation. A few important themes that came out of the discussions were the need for: 📣 More effective intra-organisational #communication channels. 📨 Better #collaboration between organisations for threat intelligence and security incident management. 🛡 Security by Design as an essential methodology for all systems, services and products in all industries. 📢 Widespread security #awareness and #education campaigns for the general public and within organisations from all industries. ⚖ Adequate #legislation for the researching and reporting of information security #flaws and #vulnerabilities for a more secure product ecosystem. 🖇 Unified approaches to #product implementation, business plan creation and vendor management and procurement, including all functions of the business 🌍 A #cultureshift to the way we think about and implement information security practices in every day life. I would like to thank all the panellists Clive Spiteri, Abigail Abela Cavallaro, and Ernest Agius for their active participation and amazing insights during our discussion, and would also like to thank the National Cybersecurity Coordination Centre MT and MITA (Malta Information Technology Agency) for the event and inviting me to moderate. Stay tuned for more on this topic as it is one that interest me immensely.
