Now that’s a headline I stand by! 🦄 Thank you IBC - International Broadcasting Convention for capturing how AWS for M&E is helping our customers increase their reach, relevance, and revenue, to meet this moment of industry reinvention. Transcript and link below for full story: Amazon Web Services (AWS) “views convergence as the defining trend that’s going to shape the media industry in the coming years”, involving the coming together of different types of content mediums as well as the technologies that will make this a reality, according to Samira Panah Bakhtiar, General Manager of Media & Entertainment, Games, and Sports at AWS. New generations of content consumers have “very different preferences on how they like to engage with content” while technologies such as cloud and AI are “helping to accelerate the ability for us to be able to merge different types of content”, Bakhtiar added. AWS itself made the “deliberate decision” last year to “converge our games organisation with our traditional media entertainment and our sports group”, she said. At IBC2024, the company has incorporated its game developer services into its stand for the first time and is also providing an interactive and immersive area. Feeding into this convergence drive, AWS is as usual playing host to a wide range of partners that are showcasing their products and services at IBC on its stand. Bakhtiar said 69 different offerings are being demonstrated by 45 companies this year. “We’re at a position where we feel like we can bring all these different technologies together and help our customers think really differently,” she said. Stand Number: 5.C90, 14.AID6, 14.AID8 ### https://lnkd.in/ek7-pQWz

Highlights include: Defensive Alerts: Now on the main feed, predicting likely blitzing players and defensive actions. Defensive Vulnerability: Pinpoints weak spots on the field, offering strategic insights. Coverage ID: Reveals real-time defensive schemes, enhancing gameplay understanding. These advancements, powered by a collaboration with Amazon Web Services (AWS), utilize state-of-the-art compute power to seamlessly integrate AI into live sports broadcasts. This initiative aims to not only enrich the fan experience but also deepen viewers' understanding of the strategic nuances of football. Amazon's approach showcases how digital platforms are leveraging technology to transform sports broadcasts into more interactive and insightful experiences, potentially reshaping fan engagement. It prompts important questions about the future of sports media: How will traditional broadcasters adapt? What new engagement opportunities will arise for fans? With the rise of sports betting, will AI-driven insights become a crucial part of broadcasts? I’m eager to hear your thoughts on these developments. How do you see AI shaping the future of sports broadcasting and fan engagement? Could these innovations encourage other sports leagues to adopt similar technologies?

Technical and Commercial Recruitment Across EMEA & APAC for Emerging Video Tech, Entertainment and Media Industry✨
By asking one too many questions last year during the Super Bowl, my evenings on the weekends over the last few months have centred around the NFL. *Insert picture of the Sky coverage of the AFC Championship to prove it* When looking back on the development and innovation of sports broadcast its almost hard to comprehend that instant replay was not a feature once. Or that data and analytics shown as a graphics was also once not part of the coverage. What can we expect in the future? Robert Szabó-Rowe dived deeper into what sport production and delivery trends will be in 2024. DL and AI utilised to optimise workflows to assist with generation of content and propelling production forward. Cloud, cloud, cloud. Cloud production and delivery services enables not only the NFL, Premier League etc to be on air, but also lower leagues, divisions and college or university games. Latency! Focus on utilising 100g fiber extending the capabilities for premium quality and super low latency of broadcast.
