An excellent example of how a cold food offering at HAF can be nutritious. The long standing argument that the food at HAF must be hot is not founded on research findings. Often people have cited research comparing school packed lunches, prepared by parents, to school meals (that are subject to SFS). This is not the correct comparison within the context of HAF where the cold food options are prepared at HAF clubs. All food at HAF, whether hot or cold, should comply to SFS, and there is clear research evidence that cold lunches can be equally nutritious to hot meals. This is not to say that children and young people don't welcome a hot meal, especially when it is raining! But on very hot days, sitting down to a hot meal in the middle of activities is not always welcome. Rather, a hybrid model that builds on local assets and expertise to meet SFS should always be the priority to improve children's and young peoples dietary intake. Well done to Pam Noel MRSPH and team.
What a week! Around 1000 children and young people, with their families have attended events across the week participating in sport and physical activity opportunities, along with a huge variety of food preparation, tasting and creating of sundaes, noodle pots and ice pops to name a few! Thanks to Digbeth Dining and our fantastic UCB students that have worked with diligence and teamwork all week. Summer HAF Bring it on Brum has commenced!! “My personal goal is to give our guests the best experience possible. Every day! All year round," our customer, 𝗠𝗶𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗲𝗹 𝗥𝗼𝗹𝘃𝗲𝗿, points out as he welcomes us into his first McDonald's restaurant. Have you been there yourself? At McDonald's Nyborg, Denmark? 🍟🍔 "I'm interested in the business and its development. It's the business concept that sparks me - the way we develop it - grow it - and gradually add more and more employees.” Michael owns 𝟭𝟭 𝗠𝗰𝗗𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗱'𝘀 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗮𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘁𝘀 across Funen and the southern part of Jutland. He, therefore, also owns 𝟮𝟮 𝘂𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗹 𝘄𝗮𝘀𝗵𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗝𝗘𝗥𝗢𝗦 🤗 And to get an insight into Michael's business journey, we are invited to visit him where it all began ... Read along to get an insight into Michael Rolver's way of doing business: 👉 https://shorturl.at/ryRSZ 👈 At JEROS A/S, we want to thank Michael for his hospitality and helpfulness 🙏 Especially when it comes to letting our film crew move into selected restaurants to depict how JEROS helps McDonald's streamline the cleaning processes associated with dishwashing so that the restaurants achieve the shortest possible washing time with the minor consumption of water, energy, and chemicals. Cleaning processes that ensure a consistent and bacteria-free result with every wash. Or, as Michael puts it very honestly: "I have to say that I hardly notice the JEROS machines in everyday life. They do their job and they help make the workflow run smoothly at the pace that characterizes McDonald's." We hope you enjoy the article 🙋♀️🙋♂️ #McDonald's #foodprocessing #foodsafety #hygiene

Stop burning money in coal facilities while saving the planet| Boosting your reputation | Avoiding future government penalties by creating unique energy strategies|Energy Efficiency Specialist |Chem. Eng.|Coach|Author
I have often heard people highlight the importance of a healthy work environment and the need for a human-centered leader —someone who not only focuses on results but also cares about how they are achieved. I couldn't agree more with these statements! Some people say that a couple of beers a week makes no difference in the work environment. But attitude toward the group is equally important. I must confess, even in university, I hated beer! I didn’t drink a sip of it. But in my first job, my colleagues used to meet every Friday to share a beer. I found myself being part of the team, yet not fully included at the same time. I was a young girl, and all my colleagues were tough and hardened men. Becoming part of the team required a shift in perception—not just for me but also for them. Should I become harsher than them? Should I act more like a man? No. That was never my approach. I cannot be a man, as simple as that! I am a proud girl! Instead, I embraced being different and, in the process, became more authentically me. Over time, I even learned to enjoy beer. Now, I love having one or two on hot days! At first, I refused many invitations to Friday night beers. But to truly become part of the team, I realized I needed to spend time with them outside of work. We became friends. I remember that while they would order extra rounds of beer, I would ofte order some shacks to share. I did this because I wanted to get to know them better and, honestly, I preferred an empanada, hot dog or pizza over 20 consecutive beers! Eventually, I joined them once a month on Fridays. I was the only girl there, and over time, they started sharing personal stories with me. I became their confidante in many cases. After a while I become one more of the team, even at the begining I was so different. I learned that differeces can bring a team together, Even the Friday night beers is not enough for a healthy work environment, they are also important to become a community for innovative solutions. For becoming part of this comminity bringing differences to create innovative energy efficiency on coal plants subscribe to my website in my bio. _______________________________________ Click Monica Y. One thing I love about my role is spending time visiting sites and team. Brings me back to humble beginnings. So I was recently wondering how do you keep team invested and continually developing? We have recently implemented an activation, visiting one site a week as part of: Permanently Unique’s Train Me Tuesdays. The idea is to encourage teams to attend high energy, high engagement sessions in which we aim to build their knowledge even 1% - marginal gains! One simple nugget of knowledge that they might use to enhance a guest experience moving forward. BLENDED FAMILY PARENTING COACH | Couples Coaching | Workshops | Helping couples prepare for and navigate the challenges of blended family parenting
Blended family unity comes from shared experiences. A couple I work with adopted this motto and began the expectation that everyone shows up for each other and everyone helps. One of the ideas we brainstormed was a rotation of "dinner helpers" (prep, cooking, cleanup). As a team, dinner wasn't just "Mom's" job and she was much more relaxed at the end of the day too. We added the idea of dinner menu planning as a group. Main courses were on a list for the kids to refer to, sides were selected and everyone got to pick their favorite once a month. What kind of teamwork has your family rallied around? Share below to inspire others! #blendedfamily #stepfamily #parenting #communication #coparenting #parentingtips

I am going to break the number 1 Rule in Soup Club and talk about Soup Club….. What is this Soup Club?....I hear you ask…. Well, here at Rutherford Briant, a select few of us have been chosen (some of us opted in) to be part of a group where we take turns to create a Soup on a weekly basis for the group to enjoy. So far, we have enjoyed a Spiced Parsnip soup, created by Amanda Sainter and a Carrot and Coriander by Matthew Reed. Next week is my turn and I am planning on making a Tomato and Red Pepper Soup. So why am I talking about Soup Club?.... Basically, I wanted to look at the Soup Club Advantage when it comes to cultivating a positive work culture. In today's professional world, the significance of work culture cannot be overstated. A positive work culture not only contributes to employee satisfaction but also plays a pivotal role in fostering collaboration, creativity, and overall productivity. I personally feel that the establishment of the Soup Club (some people in the office may refer to it as a Soup Cult) is a unique and effective way to enhance workplace camaraderie and build a positive atmosphere. Even those of us not wishing to take part are entertained and invested in the weekly deliberations around consistency and vegetable to liquid ratios. Not only does Soup Club foster connection, promote team building and well-being….. it also means on a Monday I no longer have to think about what I am having for lunch. One less thing to think about for me! Win – win. But it also celebrates diversity as participants can share recipes from various cultural backgrounds, creating an inclusive environment that values and appreciates differences. So I suppose what I am suggesting is…… create yourself a Soup Club (other forms of culinary delights can also be used)! #soupclub #culture #healthandwellness #teambonding #teamculture

I got home late last night from our exhibition opening to find this! Totally ❤️my husband’s new Chef outfit - nope he’s not got a new job - except he kind of has and no I didn’t buy him this 🤣 With lots of change over the last 4 months we recognised that our divide and conquer household roles needed to change. As our kids grew up I was the one totally into (by choice) the family nutrition & organising the domestics around our business lives. Now as our kids have left home and I’ve taken on contracts that mean I don’t work from home and have late hours - he’s making sure I get my nutrition whilst I ensure he gets up early enough to get the gym in before the work day starts (we’re both on a longevity mission 💪🤣) We’re adapting, focussing on our teamwork and getting the right systems in place (he’s discovered he’s a splatter cook!) All principles that I believe in at work and whilst I don’t eat Mars bars there’s a wee clever food marketing jingle from my youth that’s always stuck in my head … helps you work, rest and play. Hence at work and home I believe in feeding the team well. My Chef at work follows these same principles and we ensure our team as well as our members at the Scottish Arts Club eat well too. Good work, rest and play 💪🤣 As for the dog -no she doesn’t get to taste test the alcohol free beers that we’re trialling! I believe hospitality has a health and social responsibility / role too. #adaptation #teamwork #responsibility
