This afternoon Cadence founder and CEO Chris Altchek joined Lifepoint Health®’s David Dill, Ascension Saint Thomas' Fahad Tahir and TeamHealth’s Leif Murphy on stage at Nashville Health Care Council #Sessions2024. The group delved deep into the transformative power of collaboration in driving results for patients, communities, and health systems. Chris shared, “When it comes to these kinds of partnerships, instead of angling for ownership or interest, we take the approach of ‘we’re all in this together’ because it’s really not a zero-sum game.” Technology will have an even more profound impact on how healthcare is delivered in the coming decade. It’s not just about making care more efficient, it’s about making it more proficient. The future is about forming fewer but deeper partnerships, working alongside the best health systems to personalize guidelines and raise the standard of care at scale.

The growing use of digital technologies is not only shaping people's daily lives, but also driving the direction of their health journeys and shaping the organizational structure and services of our hospitals and clinics. There's been lots of talk about hospital margins over the last few years, with recent discussion about how margins have improved. However, as data from this week's Gist Weekly newsletter shows, not all margins are made equal. There's large disparities between the margins of highest and lowest performing health systems. Gist says the best performers have embraced the shift to outpatient, managed the contract labor crisis, and are likely the dominant system in a geography with strong population growth. This gap will continue to widen: market leaders have the cash to reinvest in innovation & partnerships that can drive share. For innovators, this has a big impact on go-to-market strategy. Systems are are operating squarely in the red will be focused on returning to profitability, while market leaders will have more capital to deploy to innovation. #healthcare #digitalhealth #healthtech
