Think less about: The number of veterans utilizing the GI Bill The cost of the current GI Bill The educational limitations of the GI Bill The current short-term approach toward transitioning veterans to civilian life Think more about: Repurposing the GI Bill to offer cash-out incentives Creating a secure financial foundation for our veterans Focusing on long-term stability and support in civilian life Expanding the possibilities of the GI Bill beyond just education The GI Bill has been a pillar of military benefits for decades, but it's time we adapt it to serve our veterans better in the modern world. Rather than solely focusing on short-term educational benefits, we should provide options like cash-out incentives that build a more secure financial future for our veterans. It's time we shift our perspective, focus on long-term stability, and provide the support our veterans need in civilian life. For those that know, they know - for the rest of us we have to arm ourselves with knowledge and find the experienced hands out there to help us along. I see many - too many in my not so humble opinion - advertisements to assist Veterans to get "what they deserve" and achieve a 100% rating at the VA. What do Americans think about Veterans? | It turns out all the components of a high performing team member are considered traits recognized by non-Veterans. I agree with the survey results and would encourage anyone who is thinking about Serving, to understand the foundational elements that you will carry with you for your entire life - the experiences gained will make you stronger. Great tips. For those transitioning out of the military: reach out to those who have gone before you for tips and advice. Don’t be scared to ask. Veterans want to help other veterans. You will glean a nugget from every conversation.
