Continuing our series of shining a light on our own brands, this week we’re focusing on AMT, our much-loved barista coffee brand. We’re also a little biased because the wonderful AMT baristas keep us fuelled at SSP HQ! Did you know that AMT has been going for over 30 years? It was founded in 1993, inspired by the thriving coffee shop culture in Seattle, and was acquired by SSP in 2022. We now have nearly 20 kiosks & coffee shops in train stations across the UK but AMT was setting the standard of great coffee long before it joined SSP; in fact, it was the first in the country to use 100% Fairtrade beans and uses bio-degradable cups as standard. We’re continuing this forward-thinking ethos to expand the brand in train stations across the country – it’s our fastest-growing business and continues to offer the Fairtrade coffee and excellent service it was built on.

Good Compare in layman terms

Are you in the right place? Take a simple bottle of water, for example. In a grocery store, it might cost $1. At a restaurant, that same bottle could go for $3. At an airport, you might pay $5 or more. The bottle hasn’t changed—it’s the same water, in the same packaging—but the value assigned to it is different based on where it is sold. This analogy applies to more than just products. Your worth, your skills, and your expertise can be perceived differently depending on the environment you’re in. Are you in a space where your value is being fully recognized and appreciated?

As an independent contractor I recognize that my skills are valued differently depending on the client. That's okay. The people who see value are out there! The beauty of contracting is that I can be in many places at once 😉 #KnowYourWorth #IndependentContractor #SkillSet #Compensation
