🚀 Tomorrow marks the beginning of a journey filled with pain, getting lost, and more pain. 🚀 At 9 tomorrow night, me and a very large rucksack will get off the train at Lloyd Park and head off on a solo 100km adventure to to raise awareness and support for a cause that is deeply personal to me: the challenges parents face in getting help for neurodivergent children. This journey won’t be easy, but it’s nothing compared to the daily struggles and frustrations many families endure. 💪 Why am I doing this?  💪 Because every child deserves the best possible support, and every parent deserves to be heard and helped. We’re just a few days away! 🗓️🤩🤩🤩 Step Above Stigma (SAS), a Canadian charity committed to empowering young adults in their mental health journey, is hosting its inaugural holiday fundraiser THIS Thursday, December 14 at the RBC Centre in Toronto. 100% of the proceeds will directly benefit SAS's 2024 programming. Eight-year-old Jason has been on our waiting list since March, suffering from sleeplessness, headaches, and school refusal. After a work restructure, his mum is struggling to find a new school-friendly job which, combined with a 30% rent increase and other rising living costs, is causing family strain. The family is forced to consider moving, which Jason dreads due to fear of losing his school and friends. He repeatedly asks his dad, "Are we poor?" Their GP suggested Jason's symptoms were anxiety-related and recommended Expressive Therapy with us.
