“St Luke’s, took the reins we didn’t know how to steer and guided us with gentle hands right through to the very end.” St Luke’s nurses are a special breed; they choose to use their skills in an environment and situation that many would find difficult. But that’s why they do it – they know they have something very precious to offer; advice, support and compassionate care to patients and their families at the end of their own lives, or someone they are close to. You can make a real difference to a patient’s life by sponsoring our nurses working at our specialist unit and visiting you at home. Your generous gift will help us to continue to provide much needed care to the people in your community. Find out more about sponsoring a nurse https://bit.ly/2WAdkgD

🎉 Exciting News! 🎉 Be the 25th or 65th person to share a response to an excerpt from my book, Nursing on Another Level: Enhancing the Healthcare System, and win an IHOP gift certificate for you and a loved one in a nursing home. Excerpt: In my book, I share my philosophy of teaching students. I believe educators should not be the only ones educating. Instead, parents, families, and communities need to work together to bring about students’ success. Similarly, nurses should not have to take this road alone to create a happier environment for patients in the nursing home.” Share your response on my blog https://lnkd.in/gE7ReMVf to join the conversation and win! Note: The gift certificate will be for IHOP. #BookGiveaway, #NursingOnAnotherLevel, #HealthcareRevolution

Back in April, it was great to meet the nursing professionals at The Ottawa Hospital in Canada. The event focused on how the nursing profession is driving quality and accountability! We explored the key differences between the healthcare systems in England and Canada, exchange learnings and case studies on digitally-enabled quality improvement from both sides of the Atlantic and how Tendable supported their local quality assurance and improvement programmes. Professor Jane Cummings CBE, RN. also presented on how the nursing profession can drive quality and accountability. In her presentation she touched on the following key themes: 💡 The fundamentals of care ✨ How to drive a culture of compassionate leadership ✅ Learning from what goes wrong as well as best practice 💙 Strategies to drive and sustain continuous quality improvement Here is a little sneak peek of what to expect over the next few weeks - so stay tuned! #Nursing #Quality #Qualityassurance #Canada #Healthcare

We recently asked Heather Thornton DNP, RN, CNE why she chose her current area of practice! Here is what she shared: "I feel one of the greatest areas of impact for nurses is empowering people to achieve their goals. Information sharing is an important part of empowerment. As a professor, I am allowed to learn with students and share information, so students can achieve their dreams of becoming nurses. These graduates, in turn, continue the cycle of education and empowerment in their individual areas of expertise. Essentially, my current practice as a faculty member allows me a broad impact on patient care because I am a part of so many future nurses lives each semester."
