Address key barriers to effective programming, including mental health stigma and the need to diversify and strengthen partnerships. important links to literature reviews and policy papers included.
The first ever USAID Mental Health Position Paper has just been released!!! USAID has been supporting mental health initiatives for many years; however, with this paper, the Agency is elevating its commitment to advance mental health around the world. This is a big deal! I joined after the meticulous hard work behind this paper was already finished by Paul Bolton, Teresa Parr, Kathleen O'Donnell Burrows, Lyla Schwartz, and many, many others. But I am both thrilled and honored to be here now in this watershed moment! Also sending a shout out to Jerome Galea, the new Mental Health Coordinator who is leading the USAID Mental Health Team forward. It is a proud moment for us all! #globalmentalheath #MentalHealth #MHPSS #USAID #MentalHealthMatters #SustainableDevelopment #InclusiveDevelopment #localization
