How do you get past the spaghetti method of trying all the marketing things to see what works? Here are five steps to start moving in the right direction... 1. Figure out who your buyers are. Be specific. The more generic your targeting, the easier you are to ignore. 2. Clarify your messaging. Identify the specific problems you solve and clearly communicate how you solve them. The StoryBrand framework is a fantastic tool for this. 3. Focus on educating your buyers. Answer their questions, and don't shy away from the hard ones. Buyers can sniff out the BS, so shoot straight and help them make the best decision. Use written and video content on your website and social channels. 4. Get sales and marketing working together. Marketing should be talking to sales and vice versa. Silos will kill your progress. 5. Build a marketing system instead of only looking for quick wins. You have to commit to the long term if you want sustainable growth.
