As part of its broader long-range precision fires modernization program, the U.S Army plans to equip soldiers with two new missile systems by 2024. The two missiles aim to address a few range issues for the service. The legacy Army Tactical Missile System, or ATACMS, which has a maximum range of around 190 miles, will be replaced by the Precision Strike Missile, or PrSM, which can cover distances up to an estimated 300 miles. These PrSM systems can also be used for SEAD, as many radars are within their range from the frontline to monitor the frontline, since ground based radars typically have a range of 200 - 300 miles. The ability to deliver a warhead with such precision is a very potent tool, depending on the terrain and the situation. Likewise, in attack, the US army can force enemy forces to retreat by using these PrSM systems to block their escape routes, so the adversary has to either halt and face the US army or enter into trap areas that the US Army has quickly and with little notice set up. The service is also working on a completely new technology in the Long Range Hypersonic Weapon, which will give the Army the speed and reach that its leaders consider essential for confronting peer competitors such as the Russian and Chinese militaries. #missile #rocket #army #unitedstatesofamerica #military #technology #hypersonic #soldier (Image Source: Lockheed Martin )

🇺🇸💪 The US Army is conducting maintainability and reliability tests for the M88A3 Heavy Equipment Recovery Combat Utility Lift Evacuation System (Hercules) at the Yuma Proving Ground, Arizona. The M88A3 is the latest iteration of the armored recovery platforms BAE Systems is developing for the United States Department of Defense. It has modernized tracks, hydro-pneumatic suspension, an improved powertrain, and increased speed to sustain rapid recovery and cross-country mobility. BAE Systems, Inc. signed the contract to transform an M88 vehicle into the first A3 configuration for the Pentagon in 2019. #military #army #militarytech #defensetech #technology #defense #defence #defenseindustry #defenceindustry #usarmy #hercules

As Department of Defense is accelerating investments into defense industrial base, expect many defense contractors to perform well. For example, Raytheon was awarded $1.1B for NASAM (a distributed and networked short- to medium-range ground-based air defense system) production. This could be a good time to add defense stocks to your portfolio. #investmentmanagement #dod #defenseindustry #defensesector #militarysubcontractors #trading #wealthmanagement #investmentadvisory #privateequity #usa #defense #military #ukraine #departmentofdefense #industrialexpansion #raytheon #prattandwhitney #electricboat #generaldynamic #BEA #L3 #amtcapital

Expansion of U.S. defense industrial base creates various opportunities in a commercial real estate, especially in Connecticut known for its leadership in defense manufacturing. Higher rates and costlier financing continue to challenge commercial real estate, but market dislocation is creating opportunities. Do you think that is something you be interested to add to your investment holdings? Lets discuss. #commercialrealestate #cre #industrialrealestate #defensemanufacturing #ctdefenseindustries #realestateagent #ctrealestate

PRO FORCE DESIGN POINT - Explain why nearly 10,000 tanks have been destroyed in Ukraine by non-armor assets and why Kiev has pulled back our donated M1 tanks. COUNTERPOINT - Tanks have been severely tested in the war in Ukraine and often poorly employed. However, no modern military, other than the US Marine Corps, has abandoned them. Just the opposite; the US Army is developing a new tank with a requirement to be able to defend against the weapons seen in recent wars. The British Army is designing a new Leopard 3, and the Germans and French have formed a consortium to design and build a new modern tank with similar requirements. It is still true that tanks need infantry and infantry needs tanks.

Israeli defence company Elbit Systems was awarded a contract worth approximately USD 270 million to supply rocket artillery to an international customer. The company has not disclosed the customer, but we recently reported that, after Spain, at least two additional European armies have decided to procure the advanced PULS artillery systems made by Elbit. The PULS is a launcher carried by a heavy truck and capable of launching different types of rockets to ranges of up to 300 km. According to the official Elbit brochure: “The multi-purpose launcher features two PODS; each POD is designed for a specific rocket type: the Accular 122mm (18 rockets) with a range of up to 35 km, the Accular 160mm (10 rockets) with a range of up to 40 km, the EXTRA (4 rockets) with a range of up to 150 km, and the Predator Hawk (2 rockets) with a range of up to 300 km.” Read more 👉 https://lnkd.in/dhfRKsF4 Photo: Israel Defense Forces #ElbitSystems #Israel #MLRS #defence #rocket #artillery #military #armedforces #technology #industry

An orchestra is judged not on how well one part plays or how loud the horn is, but rather how well all the instruments play together! When fighting a near-peer in a complex environment, artillery will always have a place. One concern, however, is the obsession in recent years with technology and novel capabilities taking the overwhelming focus for nations and militaries when pursuing the competitive edge. While modernisation is a critical component for national defence and its ability to stay ahead of potential adversaries, it must be remembered that it is the men and women who are trained to use it that will decide between victory and defeat. We must procure and develop equipment and technology that maintain our competitive edge. Still, we cannot forget training soldiers in the employment and synchronisation of cross-spectrum effects is what will win the war. A modern artillery soldier must be able to consider the fight in every spectrum and every environment. The convergence window demands expert conductors, not just loud instruments. #army #usarmy #interoperability #win #artillery #capability #train #armour #guns #jointeffects #future

"A new article published today by Real Clear Defense raises again the ise of the Marine Corps and missiles. How many missiles does the Marine Corps need? What kinds of missiles? For what missions? The article, "Duplication and Obsolescence: The Marine Corps’ Missile Dilemma" reviews what the Marine Corps has asked for last spring:"
