Standing Voice condemns this attempted abduction of a 3 year old boy in Tanzania. This is the third human rights violation against persons with albinism in the country in the last three months. We are deeply concerned about the reemergence of attacks against people with albinism in Tanzania and we call on the Government to take immediate and necessary steps to prioritise the security and welfare of persons with albinism and their families. Starting with the ratification of the National Action Plan on Albinism.

When a government is in conflict with its own people, it diverts resources away from economic development and social welfare towards security and repression. This can lead to stagnation, poverty, and resentment among the populace.Example: In Syria, the Assad regime's brutal crackdown on anti-government protests in 2011 led to a devastating civil war that has devastated the country's economy and infrastructure. The conflict has displaced millions of Syrians and undermined the regime's legitimacy, making it difficult for the government to address the needs of its citizens.

If a representative has used the position bestowed on them by the people, the sovereign, to jeopardise the interests of Kenya and Kenyans, the aggrieved, the people of Kenya, are entitled to pursue all the available means under the Constitution and the law to seek redress. Kenyans are free to use their rights under Chapter Four of the Constitution to safeguard the interests of Kenya and Kenyans. In addition, those self-interested representatives should not be saved from impeachment, recall and the court process. If the representatives cannot safeguard the interests of Kenya and Kenyans, the people must stand up for themselves in terms of Article 1(1) and 3(1) of the Constitution. Self-interested leaders are a threat to the sovereignty and the security of Kenya and the welfare of the people of Kenya. They are undeserving of the sympathy of the people.

Ethiopia is paving the way for children's rights by ratifying the UN convention on the rights of the child and the African charter on the rights and welfare of the child. These treaties cover a wide range of civil, political, economic, social, and cultural rights for children. Article 36 of the FDRE constitution also guarantees specific rights for children including the right to life, name, nationality, care from parents/guardians, protection from exploitation, safe working conditions, and freedom from corporal punishment. Today, as we commemorate the International Day of Innocent Children Victims of Aggression, we call on the government of Ethiopia to safeguard children from all forms of harm during times of conflict. #ChildrensRights #Ethiopia #UNConvention #AfricanCharter #ProtectOurChildren

#ProtectOurChildren Child protection is a term of art and not simply a generic description relating to all measures and mechanisms a government or civil society actors might do. Child protection is a very specific subset of the whole field concerning children's rights. And it concerns the prevention and the response to three of the most egregious harms facing children. These harms are child violence, child abuse and child exploitation.
It’s time to act! Every child deserves a safe and nurturing environment, free from exploitation. We need your support to make this a reality. The Biden administration aims to see a revitalized Palestinian Authority (PA) take charge of postwar Gaza. Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammed Shtayyeh recently unveiled a plan for this revitalization. However, the PA’s entrenched corruption and inefficiency pose challenges. Notably, the PA continues to allocate hundreds of millions of dollars annually to welfare for terrorists. This controversial program, often labeled “pay-to-slay,” provides salaries and benefits to Palestinians imprisoned for “participating in the struggle against the occupation.” Families of prisoners and “martyrs” also receive rewards. The PA’s annual expenses for this program exceed $300 million, nearly 10% of its budget. Despite mechanisms in place to curb this spending, the issue remains contentious #BidenAdministration #PalestinianAuthority #GazaReconstruction #MohammedShtayyeh https://lnkd.in/eBdZZGNr Follow the TJNEWS channel on WHATSAPP 🔗 http://bit.ly/Channel_TJV TELEGRAM 🔗https://t.me/tjvnews
