From this Q&A session, here's where New York Power Authority's #EVolveNY network and EV adoption are in New York State as we enter April '24:
📍 170 chargers at 43 locations, spanning almost all of NY state.
📊 New York's EV adoption levels are slightly ahead of the national average, at around 9% of new vehicles sold.
🛣 EVolve's first site in Lagrangeville remains the only pubic fast charging option on the busy Taconic Parkway. Similar situations are found on the Northway to Canada and I-88 to NY's Southern Tier.
✈ One 10-stall site at New York JFK airport, with a 12-stall station in the works for La Guardia.
🔮 The network's target is 400 chargers across 90 stations in place by the end of 2025. This includes 14 new federally-funded #NEVI sites, joining the three already open.
✅ These new locations should complete the requirement to have DC fast charging every 50 miles along a state's Alternative Fuel Corridors (AFC), which frees up funding for other charging projects. New York has just over 2,000 miles of AFC roads designated at this time.
