A dream in which brains could be repaired after an ischemic stroke… May that article be a step on the way of the use of stem cells to repair brains damaged by those strokes! On my side, I want that dream to be our future ! Feel free to read it and share it! #ischemicstrokes
💡 Nose-to-brain delivery of stem cells in stroke: the role of extracellular vesicles 👃 🧠 Did you know ? Stem cell transplantation offers a promising therapy that can be administered days, weeks, or months after a stroke. In this article, the authors, among them Matthieu de Kalbermatten and Ibon Garitaonandia, PhD, MBA, advance the concept that stem cells secrete extracellular vesicles, which participate in stem cell migration from the periphery to the ischemic brain and improve vasculogenesis, altogether contributing to brain remodeling after stroke. 👀 Read the full article, here: https://lnkd.in/gRzWD_vG #CellTherapy #GeneTherapy #AdvancedTherapies

#intracerebralhemorrhage #exosome #bonemarrowmesenchymalstemcell Exosomal miR-23b from bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells alleviates oxidative stress and pyroptosis after intracerebral hemorrhage https://lnkd.in/gpRSD-br Our previous studies showed that miR-23b was downregulated in patients with intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH). This indicates that miR-23b may be closely related to the patho-physiological mechanism of ICH, but this hypothesis lacks direct evidence. In this study, we established rat models of ICH by injecting collagenase VII into the right basal ganglia and treating them with an injection of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cell (BMSC)-derived exosomal miR-23b via the tail vein. The findings of this study suggest that BMSC-derived exosomal miR-23b exhibits antioxidant effects through inhibiting PTEN and alleviating NLRP3 inflammasome-mediated pyroptosis, thereby promoting neurologic function recovery in rats with ICH.

Stem Cell Therapy: A New Hope for Crohn’s Disease ✨🌿 Stem cell therapy offers new possibilities for Crohn’s patients by restoring balance to the immune system and reducing chronic inflammation in the gut. By calming the immune response, stem cells help reduce the frequency and severity of flare-ups while promoting tissue repair in the intestines. This natural, regenerative approach could lead to fewer flare-ups, better gut health, and more extended periods of remission. 🔗 Learn more about how stem cell therapy is transforming Crohn’s care. ⚛Stem Cell Therapy: A New Hope for Crohn's Disease ⚛ 🆘Understanding Crohn's Disease: Crohn's disease is a chronic inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) causing digestive tract inflammation, with current treatments involving anti-inflammatory medications and immunosuppressants, often causing significant side effects and variable efficacy. 🆘The Promise of Stem Cell Therapy: Stem cell therapy aims to restore immune balance and promote gut healing, using primary types like Hematopoietic Stem Cells (HSCs), Mesenchymal Stem Cells (MSCs), and Induced Pluripotent Stem Cells (iPSCs). 🆘Mechanism of Action: Stem cell therapy aids in Crohn's disease by suppressing the immune response, promoting tissue repair and regeneration, and reducing flare-ups, enhancing overall quality of life. 🆘Clinical Research and Trials: Research shows HSC transplantation can lead to remission in Crohn's disease patients, MSC therapy improves clinical outcomes, and iPSC applications are in early stages. 🆘Challenges and Considerations: Stem cell therapy faces safety concerns, technical barriers, and ethical considerations due to long-term effects, sophisticated techniques, and high costs associated with isolating, expanding, and differentiating stem cells. #StemCellTherapy #StemCellResearch #StemCellBiology #StemCell #CrohnsDisease #RegenerativeMedicine #AutoimmuneDisorders #GutHealth #Inflammation #ChronicIllness #Biotechnology #PersonalizedMedicine #ClinicalResearch #HealthcareInnovation

🏵Favourite paper of the day 🏵 Chronic Inflammation Directs an Olfactory Stem Cell Functional Switch from Neuroregeneration to Immune Defense Despite the remarkable regenerative capacity of olfactory mucosa, the function of the olfactory neuroepithelium is significantly compromised in cases of chronic inflammatory rhinusinusitis. This study aims to identify the initial trigger of inflammation that cause damage to olfactory neurons and subsequently activates the regenerative process mediated by basal stem cells, offering valuable insights into the pathophysiology of rhinosinusitis associated olfactory loss. #inflammation #olfactorymucosa #stemcells https://lnkd.in/d4DTbjtp
