After the decision from the European Commission to postpone the Water Resilience Initiative, a joint letter co-signed by - Pernille Weiss, Member of the European Parliament and Chair of the MEP Water Group, - Pietro Francesco De Lotto from the European Economic and Social Committee and - André Viola, Member of Le Comité européen des régions was sent to Executive Vice-President Maroš Šefčovič, calling the Commission for: “an ambitious EU Blue Deal, establishing water as a top priority for the European Union” and to make water a strategic priority in its coming term (2024-2029). They are also encouraging the Commission to publish the Water Resilience Initiative without delay. Towards an EU water resilience agenda on March 12th in Leuven.
