In 2012, during a commencement speech at Harvard University, Sheryl Sandberg shared a piece of advice that Eric Schmidt gave her when he just became CEO of Google: "If you’re offered a seat on a rocket ship, don’t ask what seat. Just get on." These words, spoken more than a decade ago, have since become emblematic of the boundless opportunities that arise in fast-paced, transformative industries.
Twelve years later, this metaphor has become a literal reality in the space industry. On August 16th, 2024, SpaceX successfully executed the Transporter-11 rideshare mission from Vandenberg Space Force Base in California, launching 116 small satellites into orbit. This remarkable achievement once again underscores SpaceX 's unparalleled reliability in deploying multiple satellites, further advancing our reach into the cosmos.
Among the many successful payloads on this mission, I would like to extend special congratulations to SI Analytics esteemed partners:
Capella Space: For the successful launch of your 15th satellite, further expanding your SAR constellation for Earth imaging. Your continued innovation is transforming the way we see and understand our planet.
Maxar Technologies: For the successful deployment of WorldView Legion 3 and 4. These satellites will undoubtedly enhance global observation capabilities, offering new perspectives on our world.
Planet: For the launch of your first hyperspectral satellite, Tanager-1, along with 36 SuperDove satellites. Your pioneering efforts in Earth observation are setting new standards for the industry.
This moment is a testament to the relentless pursuit of excellence and the power of collaboration in pushing the boundaries of what is possible. Here's to the continued success of everyone involved, as we collectively reach for the stars. :-)
Catch these highlights of the Falcon 9 liftoff on Friday! We’re still buzzing with excitement from SpaceX's Transporter-11 launch.
