Helping Industry Professionals Break Into $150k - $300k+ Roles at Competitive Companies | Hiring Manager for 11+ Yrs | Founder and Lead Career Coach | Sr. Manager, Product | Husband, Dad
Company: “We’re hiring; we’re People 1st, join us!” Me: “I interviewed 7X, drove to your office, wrote a paper, and then you ghosted me” Company: “Uhhhh….We are hiring, and have amazing snacks and nap pods in the office!” 🚩🚩🚩 Great company culture isn’t ping-pong tables, high-rises, free food, and nap pods. The ‘candidate experience’ is someone’s first exposure to how your company treats people. Prioritize it. If you don’t, it will come back around. #studentvoices #careertips #jobsintech #jobsearchstrategies

Most organizations treat their candidates as inconsequential components of their people process and mostly leave them to grovel for feedbacks by ghosting them entirely. This act alone shows how deficient most corporate entities are in emotional intelligence and people management.

Here's what nobody tells you about hiring top talent: It's not about your company. It's not about your brand. It's not about your perks. It's about them. 𝗧𝗼𝗽 𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘄𝗮𝗻𝘁𝘀: - A chance to grow - An opportunity to learn - A chance to make an impact - A team that's dedicated to excellence - A manager who's a true leader and mentor 𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗲'𝘀 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆'𝗿𝗲 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂'𝗿𝗲 𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗿: - Craft a job posting that's not the same as everyone's. - Make it clear that they'll learn and grow in your company. - Emphasize the impact they'll have on the company. - Show them the values that you're passionate about. - Demonstrate that you're invested in their professional development. With every move, ask yourself: "𝘈𝘮 𝘐 𝘴𝘩𝘰𝘸𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘮 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘺'𝘳𝘦 𝘪𝘮𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵𝘢𝘯𝘵 𝘵𝘰 𝘮𝘦?" Put them first, and soon enough, they'll put you first too.

Either you do as she says, or they won’t last! Experience, numbers, facts suggest that you should look for things that are substantial. When it comes down to proper work, actual concerns and questions will be different, less theoretical, more pragmatic and connected to our realities: - are we getting things done? - are we solving problems? - are we realibale? - are we trustworthy? - are we honest? - are we adding value? - are we effective? - are we aware that our livelihoods depend on our outcomes? - are we establishing sustainable relationships? And so it would go on. Hire for actual🔥, not just simple 🧨
