US$21 Mln Funding When we look at the dynamics that reveal the concept of Industry 4.0, a number of factors such as the huge developments in the digital world and the cyber-physical systems they create, billions of devices that can communicate with each other, called the internet of things, and the ability to process big data come to the fore. Imagine factories that possess the collective knowledge and expertise of all engineers and machinists who have ever worked in them, and can produce the most challenging parts with superhuman reliability and 10 times efficiency. This imagination explains the concept of Industry 4.0, also called the 4th Industrial Revolution. The main steps in Industry 4.0 include collecting and pre-processing manufacturing data, developing and testing AI models, and putting them into production. These algorithms are then plugged into various applications that aim to improve everything from product quality and manufacturing processes to overall operational efficiency. Belgium’s Robovision inked a $42m deal in March to bring computer vision intelligence to industrial machinery, while Switzerland’s EthonAI raised a $16.5m Series A in May for software that predicts maintenance needs and catches quality issues early. 🔹Further evidence of a swell in AI manufacturing can be seen in the $28.5m Series B for UK-founded Oden Technologies, now based in New York, in April, while Apple a month earlier acquired Canadian startup DarwinAI, which visually inspects components during the manufacturing process. 🔹So-called predictive maintenance startups in Europe are suddenly experiencing VC love. aiomatic Solutions — based in Germany, as so many of these manufacturing startups are — raised €2m in January for a system that detects potential machine faults early and helps reduce downtime. Tomorrow Things, also German, raised €1.5m in March for a similar product. 🔹At the same time, we should expect to see more digital assistants enter factories. Stuttgart-based Assemblio creates animated step-by-step assembly guides for workers — the company raised €2.1m in February. Monumo , a technology business that couples deeptech AI innovation with traditional engineering expertise to redesign the electric drive unit, has been awarded nearly £1 million in funding from Innovate UK, part of UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) Monumo’s 3D Generative-AI Technology (3D-GAIT), will automate design generation, simulation, and evaluation. Working in #collaboration with electric motor research specialists, University of Nottingham's Power Electronics, Machines and Control (PEMC) Research Group, and global drive train experts, hofer powertrain, this technology will meet a crucial market need for motor design optimisation. For the past 4 months, and actually for the past almost 2 years, I have been taking myself as far as I can from my previous comfort zone - into a new world of adventures Opeing a start up and being an entrepreneur is a journey, and a great exprience - not always an easy one, mostly tough, but certainly worth it Last Wednsday, we completed a 4 months training of an accelerator program The program gave us tools that enable us to lead our compneis better, exposed us to other companies, investors, angels and friend Now - we only have to implement it in the real life :) Some key notes and take overs: 1. 🧬 Lithuanian startup Biomatter has secured EUR 6.5 million in funding. After unveiling the world’s first fully functional enzymes created using AI in 2019. The company became a leader in enzyme design. Financing rounds opened especially for supporting international developments. ➡️Apollo.ai is preparing a financing round to support the development of its AI based medical solutions allowing doctors to find all the information about the drugs they prescribe and the potential interactions between them. The startups has four such specialized medical robots and plans international expansion. ➡️Swisspod Technologies the startup developing hyperloop, a technology that allows terrestrial high speed travelling has opened a 7 million euro financing round of which 200k are available on Seedblink. Hyperloop is allowing travel at speeds close to sound speed in an electrically propulsed capsule, thus dramatically improving the time for transport for humans and freight. The technology has been tested and the business model validated being at the moment implemented in several international projects. ➡️@Gulf El is preparing the launch in Dubai market this fall and is also preparing a financing round. The startup offers a ride sharing solution and will implement an AI based guide for drivers and clients. ➡️parol, the startup helping doctors concentrate on patients by accurately registering, interpreting medical conversations and filling in the files, has started a collaboration with Regina Maria clinics in a pilot project to be deployed in three big cities. ➡️ANIS Romania annual awards nominations were announced.
