Why are Start-ups so interesting for larger corporations? Although everyone is interested in getting a first chance at a new technology, that is not the complete picture. Over time, long-established teams in large organisations can become static. Focus shifts to seeking out the team and individual weakness (improvement opportunities if you like) and applying measures to somehow correct and adapt to them. Does this help teams to become more agile? No. So how do we enable teams to be agile? In my opinion and experience, agile and innovative teams have a - Strength-based culture and a - Growth mindset This means one should focus more on the strengths of the individuals and find ways to allow these strengths to be used to maximum effect. This increases confidence creates a feeling of success and progress - a feeling that I and the team are growing. During my own years of work in innovative environments, this way of working, thinking and behaving is natural. Start-ups have it in abundance - and this is what makes them so attractive. Today, I had the pleasure of attending an event hosted by OpenValley in Ashdod, a leading force in Israel's entrepreneurial and innovation landscape. OpenValley, founded in 2016, has fostered entrepreneurship and innovation across Israel. Their approach to creating vibrant ecosystems outside city centers is truly transformative. Ashdod is their fifth and southernmost branch. What struck me most was the emphasis on local connections. By bringing together startups, industries, and partners like Assuta Hospital and Ashdod Port, OpenValley is creating a thriving innovation hub right here in Ashdod. This proximity isn't just about physical space—it's about Rapid knowledge sharing, Access to real-world testing environments, investments and Design partners, and Building a supportive community. This model accelerates innovation by helping startups make crucial business decisions quickly and effectively. As an innovation manager, I'm inspired by OpenValley's vision and could not be more excited to have them here developing the local innovation ecosystem. I strongly believe that the distribution of startup ecosystems to towns from cities is crucial for society and the empowerment of people spread over the country. Recently, I had the pleasure of visiting Plus X Innovation (a co-working space) at Slough Town Centre, and I was blown away by the facility. A big shoutout to Tanisha Davis and @Vera Santos at @Plus X Innovation for giving me a tour of their fabulous startup hub, complete with a hardware research lab in-house. It's exciting to see such innovative spaces popping up in towns, and I can't wait to see what the future holds for startups in these areas, particularly the ones I got to know and interact with. #startup #innovation #businessgrowth

Innovation Thrives on Testing New Ideas and Collaboration 💡 We therefore tested a new exchange format – our “Startup Exchange Roundtable”. In other words, we recently hosted an online event where manufacturing companies came together to share startup solutions they have successfully tested within their organization. This initiative was born from the belief that innovation thrives on #experimentation and #knowledge exchange. The event provided a #platform for us and other manufacturing companies to discuss their experiences, challenges, and the benefits they reaped from testing and implementing innovative startup solutions. A special thanks to Andreas Schön from Kärcher as well as Julia Jung and Julian Lorenz from MAHLE for sharing their experience at the first Startup Exchange Roundtable.
